I normally carry two decks on me. One of which I carry in my Porper Clip, the other I carry in a metal cigarette case. This carries the cards perfectly. With a spring in the bottom, which when the box is opened springs the cards up slightly making it easy for them to be removed. I do not know where these are available as I was given it. The porper clip is well worth the money.

Some years ago, when I was working the The Magic Cellar in San Francisco, a guy hanging around made me a really cool leather case with embossed playing cards and my NAME on the side. It has an "old west" gambler look to it.
I like to bring it out and say, "I seldom do card tricks..." When they see a case with my name on it, it gets a chuckle.

Produce them out of thin air at the start of your routine, then put them back when you're finished.
Word has it that thin air doesn't damage playing cards, and they take up oodles less pocket space this way. ;) |

A lot of silly joke answers, but at least some people were being helpfull. I can add this to the mix. I have seen the Porper clip, and all the pros I have met seem to sware by it. Saving $20 or so to get one of the card guards is kind of a waist of money, they don't really do much. Also, you could probably carry 2 or more decks in a $10 small digital camera bag, and most of those bags even have built in belt clip! Also, you can find some decks (usually at gift shops) that come in a hard plastic case with a lid. You could buy one of those decks, and then just keep using that case over and over again.

I found an extremely nice leather card case at the discount store TJ Max. It was made by Kenneth Cole, who is known for fine leather products such as shoes, handbags etc. It's a hard box made of brown leather. A poker size deck just fits snugly inside. They only had one, so useing the product id number I did a google search. The best I can determine is that this is a discontinued product, but you may still be able to get one by inquiring at the Kenneth Cole website. They even come with a deck of cards, however the one I got was sans deck.

I always carry my cards in the metal Card Guard. Ever since I started using it, my cards have lasted a lot longer. Not only that, when I pull out the guard/card bundle, people always comment on the metal thing. They ask to look at it and they realize that I'm serious about magic. It adds hardly any extra weight. At least, I don't think so.

I have never seen the Porper clip but it sounds very nice. I don't carry a full deck around much, but the $6.00 card guard I have seems to work rather well. There is alos a very nice, but somewhat expensive leather card case for sale at Magic Warehouse.

I have a card case which is leather and has a belt loop on it. I wear it either on my belt or on handbag strap. Looks like a cell phone case so no strange comments are made.

I use an elastic band or the box. I don't have time or money to mess around with things like that, anyways if they do get a little worn out in yer pockets, in an elastic band, then it will add to the mysterious and ancient muse surrounding magic. woooooooo and other ghost noises!

I got this idea:
Go to the local taylor, and ask if they can make me a leather-card-"box", which would be neat *out of here*

Try buying a cell phone case. It hanges from your belt and many hold a deck of cards very well. It's leather too so it looks good.

The second one worked, you just have to copy the whole line.
And it was beautiful But still, I want one made custom, with my name on it, and my favourite card on the back. Don't know if it'll happen, depends on the price...
