Hey guys, I love the look, feel, and weight of a .9999 pure silver coin.
I was wondering if any of you utilize these in your magic. |

I take it that the main contemporary US example of that now would be the big American Eagle coin.
Out of curiosity, what other common silver coins today are that pure? Most other US silver coins are at best 90% silver.

American Eagle, Canadian Maple Leaf, South African Krugerrand, English Britannia etc.
Or just a good ol' Buffalo Round. |

Yup. I really like performing magic with real silver.
My opener for walkaround is a one coin routine using the American Silver Dollar Eagle of 1 Oz fine silver which ends with a matching Sterling Silver three inch jumbo coin made by Max Krause of Innovative Deceptions. I’ve always transitioned into a ring & string routine (using my gold class ring) and just recently I was fortunate enough to acquire a silver ring made from an American Silver Dollar Eagle coin (made by Ryan Edwards at RE Handcrafted). I’ll be using that from now on. There’s a bit of the internal logic thing going with the matching silver items that I really like. Brett Sherwood makes awesome Sterling Silver card clips that are engraved. My next routine in my three-trick set is a couple card trick ending with card to wallet so I ring in the silver card clip to close things out. |

A little lighter, at 80% silver and 0.6 oz, I use the "Flying Goose" dollar. I do like the look of pure silver, too, but I don't think I have any pure silver coins.

I bought canada $2 1/2 oz silver bear coins. They are slightly bigger than a half dollar. Very detailed with sharp relief. I would have preferred them to be a bit easier to move against one another. Also, so shiney, hard for anyone to see the design. They wiuld work once worn, and a bit of tarnish so I can highlight the design.
S.E.M. (The Sun, the Moon, and the Earth) is a sun and moon routine unlike any other. Limited to 100 sets, here is the promo:
