I am really into close up magic. Coin magic for sure. I have been following Jay Sankey. That man is a riot.

Welcome to magic, Heather. You're in for a wild ride!
Coin magic is the best, IMO... Keep rolling with it! Have you looked at David Roth's Expert Coin Magic yet? (There's a book and a video series) It's one of the ultimate references on the subject. Well worth checking out. Sankey is great too. You could work on his material alone for years. Best of luck to you!

Hello, Heather.
Coin magic is a wonderful endeavor for you to undertake. Some might argue it's more difficult than card magic and as someone who is mostly into the pasteboard's, I would still have to agree. The coin magic that I do indulge in involves a few Walking Liberties and an English Penny because I'm a big fan of the late David Roth and I perform his version of Sawa's Bank Night often. If you do not know what I am talking about then I implore you to watch David Roth's Close-up Symposium Lecture, from 1995 Another coin routine that I do involves a single Morgan Silver Dollar, and I also LOVE to do David Williamson's 'Sympathetic Coins' routine. (you can find it on his Magic Farm video) Anyhow... welcome to the forum.

Good luck and enjoy! I'm more of a card enthusiast myself but recommend Pot of Jam by James Brown as a fun beginner close-up magic trick.

I know that David Roth is a coin master, and will def check him out. I def could work on Sankey magic alone for years. Lol! I am building my own patter, and routine. I say in another year, I might be able to amaze my five year old daughter. Maybe. Lol!
