I wanted to love Matrix Pad. It was a coin matrix using ink dots on a post-it note. It looked awesome/visual, you could hand it out at the end. But it was overly complicated and never left the drawer.
Sticky-Note Slide is the moving ink effect Matrix Pad wished it was and so very much more. In fact, the development of the Sticky-Note Slide gimmick and the routines that have been created and crafted by Tyler Twombly make me forget what trick I was comparing it to in the first place. The basic routine, moving a letter/letter in a circle is effective, clear, and fast hitting. The Zen archery effect is next level. The moving and combining of initials in hearts is so very visual and leaves a sweet and permanent memory while the HOLE routine leaves a nice visual trail of the magic. There is much here to like. Something different (not cards), uses easily obtainable/recognizable objects/gimmicks, multiple solid routines, multiple gimmick types/styles, visual, inspectable, permanent magical souvenir, and best of all not technically difficult (though requires practice, duh). Sticky Note Slide isn't brand new but was good enough to make it on Fool Us so it comes highly recommended!

Felt the same about Matrix Pad, although the second 2.0 version did make it workable, unfortunately I lost it before I ever got an opportunity to use it.
So this Tyler Twombly sticky note thing has been in my wishlist for a while at Penguin. Been waiting to need it to push me over the line to qualify for free shipping but after your comments I think I will make it a higher priority. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. |

I believe the quotes were, "I can't recommend this highly enough" and "This gets my highest recommendation."
That was all I needed to hear... Quote: On Apr 20, 2021, emyers99 wrote:

For me, the post-it note pad is not something I carry around. I'm wondering if this method would work on a stack of business cards.

Having said that, one day (perhaps soon), post-it notes and business cards will be extinct. I see both of them less and less and less...

Not for me. Too fiddly and arts and crafts involvement.

I'm not an arts and crafts person either Pegasus but this was very easy to set up.

I have to agree. There is minimal arts and crafts, obviously a little, but you could automate and batch create the go-to gimmicks one uses often.
I disagree that this is fiddly. Any small actions can easily be covered by larger actions in the context of the routine. Quote: On Apr 24, 2021, RNK wrote:
