If you were to pick one master routine that would help you in various aspects of card magic - a routine where you would imitate the exact moves, gestures, and patter of the original artist with the intention to learn and improve - which routine would it be? (consider audience control, sleights, misdirection, routining of phases, and such)

What an interesting question Will.i.am!
Had to think about this one a couple different times. My mind immediately went to Tommy Wonder and either his Wild Card Routine or his Ambitious Card Routine. I love his justification and presentation for the Wild Card and think it's a great lesson in using presentation to cover method. But eventually I settled on his Ambitious Card Routine because I think the lessons there are more universal. The use of feints, when he does moves, the order he does them in are all jam packed with useful tidbits. Thanks for the great question! Best, Brandon
We should all be in a constant state of wonder

Any of the Ron Bauer Private Studies. Each piece has been carefully constructed, extensively performed and honed (often over decades), and painstakingly transcribed into easily digestible instructions. More thought has been put into each of these 24-ish page Performance Scripts than most "professional" magicians put into their entire acts.

Definitely Derren Brown’s three card routine. I’m a sucker for impromptu effects, and this one is devious if you can pull off every little facet to it.
