I am curious as to whether or not the acclaimed book Rubinstein on Coins is good for complete coin beginners. For true beginners, would it be superior to Bobo's New Modern Coin Magic?
Thanks for your thoughts.

Teddy, I had zero experience when I started reading it. I bought it and picked up Bobo at the same time. I haven't got very far in Bobo yet as Rubinstein's book has absorbed a majority of my interest.
I think it caters to many levels. There's some parts I struggled with and will go back to later but overall, I was able to learn and make significant progress with every part of the book that appealed to me (which was most of it). It's a very cleverly written book with great photos to for reference. Michael also put out a youtube video on his page that accompanies the first part of the book where he's teaching the moves so you can see what they're supposed to look like when they're done right. I found it very helpful. As a beginner I vote for Michael's book. |

Thanks guys. Will start saving now. I also bought the highly referred to Ben Salinas DVDs based on Bobo's book. They were a steal at $15.

No, it is called Modern Coin Magic, a four DVD set.
