Anyone had seen these? It's a Hocus-Pocus exclusive, looks quite cool for a C&R rope routine. Any thoughts or comments on this effect will be greatly appreciated...

Scott Penrose, The Magic Circle Stage Magician of the Year 2000-2002, presents flash scissors, a brand new and startling addition to your Cut & Restored Rope routine! These gimmicked scissors can help make a cut and restored rope routine look more magical with flash of flame! They could be used to accentuate the magical moment in a rope routine of your own! EFFECT: The magician takes a six-foot length of rope and using a pair of scissors cuts the rope into two parts, about two thirds of the way down. The ends are tied together, and then, holding up the center of the longer piece he cuts the rope again. Thus the rope has been cut into three pieces. These new cut ends are also tied together. The two free ends are tied together in a knot, forming a circle of rope. The knots are cut away, there is a flash of fire and sparks and the rope is restored! You are supplied with a specially gimmicked pair of scissors containing the gimmick. The gimmick itself is painted black to match the handle of the scissors and under parlour/stage conditions will not be noticed. Also required: a good quality dry flash cotton or paper, sparkle additive (optional), white magician's rope (all sold separately). |

I wouldn't want to get those scissors mixed up with mums sewing scissors. She might get quite a nasty shock as she goes to cut a piece of thread!

Hi all,
Just got it today, I would like to share with you all. You will get sharp scissors which is nice for your C&R routine, plus there is a gimmick attached to the handle of the scissors which ensures a sure ignition. The gimmick is very well-made and under stage conditions, nobody will notice it. Although the instructions stated flash wool to be used, but I use flash paper (just a tiny piece which also works well). Plus, you get instruction for a C&R routine, so if you want to add something flashy to your existing C&R routine, get flash scissors.

Hi,
I also have the effect, it is a neat effect. How much did you pay for it? I think the one I have was selling for around $30. |

Yup, it was selling at $30, but I got it at $22 because of the 25% sale by hocus-pocus.
