Hi,
after reading you guy's posts, I hesitated to join, because everyone seems to be so advanced compared to me. Anyways, I've decided to join. A bit about me: I've done magic for around 1 year and I currently am doing only card magic. And that's about it. |

Welcome aboard, cyc.
And, good grief, don't feel threatened just because others seem more advanced. I've said this many times but it bears repeating: Nobody was ever BORN knowing all this stuff; we all -- every single one of us -- had to start knowing nothing and learn on the way. So make yourself at home here, cyc. cheers, Peter Marucci showtimecol@aol.com |

Hi CYC
I am with Peter... Nobody was born as an expert and every professional was an amateur in the beginning. If you feel that somebody may help you, do not hesitate to ask. The Cafe is such a wonderful place, there is always somebody who can help. Please relax and have a cup of Turkish coffee on my bill. It will help you to relax more.

Hello Friend CYC!
Glad you decided to join in. And your strategy is a good one. Surround yourself with people smarter than you, and you will gain wisdom. Hang out with the dullards, and you will eventually fit right in! But what is so great about this place is that you can ask, and get excellent civil, responses with respect from some really incredibly talented world-class magicians who are fine people. Enjoy! Welcome. I'd like you to know that I'm still learning. This is a great place to ask for help when you encounter obstacles, and card magic is very popular here in The Magic Cafe. Keep up the good work!
Best, Vic

If someone knows all there is to know about magic, the most spectacular show would be boring. Prepare to be amazed as you lean to amaze others. We're all learning and we're at your disposal.

Welcome!
I have been in magic for 27 years and I still don't know as much about it as I think I should. We all will continue to learn as long as we pursue magic, so jump on in, ask questions and learn all you can!

Welcome CYC,
You've come to the right place to learn. Please don't feel intimidated about fitting in because of your short time in magic. All of us are learning. The art of magic is such that there is always something else to learn and discover about it. You'll find most everyone here to be genuinely caring and helpful. So please make yourself at home, relax, and read the things that interest you first. Then begin to check out the other topics. You just may find an idea there that you can use or learn something from. Most of all, have fun! Joe Marotta |
