Good title huh?
I am now looking at putting on small magic shows, primarily for kids, but also resturant work etc but nothing too big and ambitious. I was wondering what were the best ways to get bookings?

Bill Malone offers great adivce on his On The Loose DVD's. If you can afford em, they are worth it. They're jam packed with great material aswell.
I have never done professional work myself so I cannot give you any adivce, sorry. |

Don't make it complex. Just talk to restaurant people and ask what they would want. You will be surprised how open they will be. Once you're working the tables, offers will come in.
Kids shows can be very difficult. Kids don't miss a thing and they aren't afraid to say so. A good way to get some experience here is to volunteer at libraries and schools. They are always happy to have the diversion. Good Luck! |

Kids are noisy, obnoxious and have vision better than you'd expect. They are harder to fool because proofs use logic.
Table-hopping requires a couple of killer effects. ID/BW, maybe a little coin trick (Dynamic Coin Trick is suitable) and OOTW. H&SS if you can handle the restrictions it poses. |
