Forgive my ignorance on the subject of the contents of these books, but the research I have done about them has not left me with a clear idea of what to expect (I know its Vernon and know it will probably be the best quality). The pages on the Internet that I have visited only give vague details. Obviously I am pondering whether or not to purchase these books, and I am wondering what kind of effects, sleights, etc I am going to find. Any help would be much appreciated.

The Vernon Chronicles, volumes 1 - 3 are a collection of the professors slights and routines. Mostly card work. There is also a great deal of the man's history, philosphy, and general comments.
Volume 4 is the biography. A great collection of books in my personal opinion. MJM |

It's not exactly a life-transforming decision. Take a chance once in a while. How disappointed in Vernon could you possibly end up being?

To be fair it is quite a bit of money to take a chance on. I know the chances in being disappointed are slim to none, but I was just curious as to what effects or treasures I might run into.

It is not the books which give you treasures. It is you who can appreciate the contents as treasures or not. There are many treasures for someones and there are few treasures for others.

The effects in the books are very good, but most important is Vernon's way of thinking. You might not perform the effect exactly as described in the books, rather you would adapt it to your own character. The ideas contained in them are brilliant. Eg. The Interlocking Setup.
