LBP, I guess he probably just looked like he meant to do that and laughed with the audience.

I did card to ceiling once, only problem was the card didn't stick to the ceiling. Needless to say, I felt pretty stupid! DOH!

My anecdote isn't card-related, but it's appropriate for this thread.
Years ago, I learnt a (fairly simple) coin production routine. Pulling coins from thin air, behind people's ears, etc, and then dropping them into a metal tin. I was 12 or 13 at the time, and, with a friend, had visited my old primary school to do some magic tricks. I was doing my coin routine and - wait for it - I dropped a coin down the cleavage of one of my old teachers. I was about 12 or 13 at the time, and I swear it was accidental. My ex-teacher just laughed, but thinking of that event still makes me cringe with embarrassment. |

My mistake was in the Junior Close-Up Finals at Tannen's camp two summers ago. I was finishing up Jumping Gemini, and as I turned over the first King, the 10 of hearts came up. I have forgot to do the Flushtration Count. My comeback was actually pretty good...I said "At least I know I'm getting 4th place now." Then I stood there for 30 seconds wondering how I screwed it up. That was extremely embarassing then, but now I look back at it and laugh.

Kidmagic87,
I have made a similar mistake on several occasions using the same routine. Funny thing is this is my favourite trick and what I perform the first time I am ever asked to do a trick. However it seems as though I think I know it so well that I can just completely switch off during the effect...although this seems unlikely. Maybe I over practice!!! Craig, Good story, I might try that when I am back at school! owen Ow |

I just made off like I had switched all the cards to seven. (always take credit) If you make a mistake roll with and laugh. Later they won't remember what happened only that they had a good time. And besides even when you make a mistake 9 times out of ten it still looks impressive. I don't know why. Most people don't like to make you feel bad unless you make them feel dumb first. And aways keep a fool proof back
Looked up, there it was, gone

I was in this pizza place and I was hired to do walk-around so I take out my cards and start to do a few tricks, this kid comes to me and askes me to do a trick, so I aked him to pick a card he picks it then I said "I messed up" go ahead and pick another card (I forced the same one on him like 4 times)then I tried to do it again and I dropped all the cards and his card stood up off of the groundand after like 5 seconds it fell to reveal it was his card, he RAN OFF SCREAMING!!!

I was performing in an old peoples home and I pretended to tear off a chickens head ( a la blaine)
Well, I got carried away with the excitement and I actually 'ripped' the chickens head off! Dont worry,i just went into my ambitious card routine and knowone was the wiser........ kukram

Emeraxld:
That was a great story Whas that luck, or is it a gimmick of some sort? I might have missed the point, but if I get it right, the deck was scattered on the ground, but one - and only one - card stood up and revealed itself?
