Hey all, I'm working on Daley's Cards Up Sleeve from Stars of Magic and it's a really cool piece. I feel really good about everything in it except for the final single card up sleeve. Does anyone else do this piece and if so, do you use the final move or something else?

Hi,
there are lecture notes of Ascanio with his sequence and interpretation of this classc. And I bet it is also in one of the The Magic Of Ascanio books, can´t look it up at the moment but would do it tomorrow if you are interested in.

All the best,
Axel

Definitely interested Axelchen! Thanks so much. I've been messing with a few other vanishes but would love to get Daley's stuff down as written before modifying

It looks like it's in Volume 3: More Studies of Card Magic. "The Ten Cards Up the Sleeve". And yes, I cheated to find it, I didn't know by heart where it was (although I was able to make an educated guess that it wasn't in the Color Changing Knives volume. Smile ): https://www.conjuringarchive.com/list/bo......ht=74032

I realllllly recommend Chuck Smith's Cards up the Sleeve, especially for that part. It fooled me when I saw it, and again when he explained it.

I think it's published in his notes "What If?" It's really a great solution to this part of the effect.

I use hand washing with a bit (actually maybe a lot) of choreography thrown in! I learnt the hand washing technique from Pop Hayden’s wonderful version of Phoenix Aces that can be purchased from his website. This unlisted video shows the way I handle the last card:

The other sequences I do are mostly based on a routine taught by Joe Turner.

Aurelio Paviato also has a really nice version.

I’m a big fan of the effect and so appreciate the suggestions that others have made🙂

Thanks to everyone for these responses, I'll keep digging into resources!

salmononius2 - I'll track it down and lol on knives
pixsmith - I'll look it up and try to track down a copy! If you have any leads, feel free to post or PM
Kanawati - nice handling, thanks for sharing the link! I'll look into Joe Turner and Aurelio Paviato, and also a fan of the effect, it's a great, challenging sequence and I'm hoping to sharpen it for my own performance.

Thanks a ton everyone and if other folks want to weigh in, please do!

Steve Valentine's monster cards to pocket project had some Daley/cards up the sleeve sections, plus a range of options/tools for the final cards which may be of interest. https://vimeo.com/ondemand/c2p https://www.ebay.ie/itm/163580684360 https://magiconthego.vhx.tv/

Does anyone know if these lecture notes are available anywhere? I've been looking for them with no success. Thanks!
