Hi guys,
lets assume somebody tells you that he sends you the date of his birth mentally.. after he did so he asks you to name the date you have in your mind.. you say 22nd may e.g.. he replys:
1. "that's very close to my birthday"
2. "u almost nailed my birthday"
3. "that's directly next to my birthday"
4. "that's just a couple of days away from by birthday"

so if you get told answwer 1-4: how many days would you suggest to be off at each answer? (approximately)

thx

1. Within a week
2. Within four days
3. Within a day
4. Within two days

Not sure I really get the point unless you’re doing an off by X routine.

Within five days. 2. "u almost nailed my birthday"
One day off. 3. "that's directly next to my birthday"
Two days off. 4. "that's just a couple of days away from by birthday"

i am actually developing a sort of psychic routine.. for this I am looking for a phrase that indicates that the day it is all about is about maximum 4 days off.. so actually it looks like "u almost nailed it" is the best.. if anybody has another idea for being max 4 days off please post it..

also interesting: anybody has an idea to say a phrse that indicate that I have birthday within the 1st 4 days of the month? something like `almost at the very beginning of the month`? what you guys think? any creativity is welcome.. Smile

New idea: how many days would you think to be off when somebody tells you that you are "just a very few days off"?

"I can tell you the day you were born on and will be correct within 3 days."

For 1,2 and 4 most people will not question your answer if you stay within 5 days. so for the 22nd, most people will consider your statement accurate anywhere from the 20th to the 25th.

Of course for statement nr 3 you can only consider the 21st and 23rd accurate

Having said this, I would be more careful around the beginning and end of the month.
If they say the 25th of May when the target is the 22nd it feels like they almost got it.
But if they say the 2nd of June when the target is the 30th of May, that feeling could be different.

I think you could do an "Off by One" out in an envelope
