I'm trying to establish a timeline of marketed tricks that are variations of:
1) Harry Stanley/Supreme Magic's "Chase the Ace."
2) Mike Rogers's "Unconquered Card"
3) Michael Skinner's "Ultimate Three Card Monte"

All three tricks use the same basic principle, but I'm curious about the years that they were released and whether there might have been versions of the effect that even predate all three.

When Skinner gave L&L permission to market his trick with gimmicked Bicycle cards, Louis Falanga contracted me to do the illustrations for the Skinner handling. Mike Rogers, who was a long-time friend of mine, contacted me and asked how I got involved with the trick. I told Mike that I was a kind of a staff illustrator for L&L, having illustrated their books by Marlo, Elmsley and John Bannon,

Thanks for any information.

Hi, Sonny,

I know Theodore DeLand released his "Pickitout" in
1908. I believe you can find it in the Sphinx. There's a photo of the gaff on this blog:

By the way, I learned Skinner's version from your drawings.

Older books have the transforming cards ( 4 twos become 4 eights)
And Hofzinser was using divided cards for his items circa 1850.
