I'm a newbie to magic, although I'm watching Bannon's videos and playing with some card stuff. I saw the video for the Penrose Pendant (https://plainsightmagic.com/products/penrose-pendant), and I really liked the idea that it's a decorative pendant that you can wear, it's not a complicated trick, and it's examinable. Seems like the sort of thing that would be great to have around.
Of course it's not for sale anymore. Is there anything similar that I might want to look into? |

Any shirt with a playing card on it can be a prediction card shirt.

I have used a product called. "Bruised" by Daniel Martin. It was a rub on tattoo of sorts with an image of a playing card and other images you could use apply to your skin. Also if you look up temporary playing card tattoos, you could obviously come up with a routine.

I sometimes wear a large glass bead on a piece of cord. Simple necklace. The hole in the bead is quite large. I do several ring and string moves to show I can remove the bead from the middle of the cord and finish by putting it back on.
Jay Sankey sells The Devil’s Tail, which is a ring and rope routine with a finger ring. He suggests that wrapping the rope around your wrist is somehow a normal thing to do, but I think it looks desperate to perform. A ring with a card or 37 or other information you can encourage people to choose might work. Patrick |

Check out "Unleashed" by Gregory Wilson. Involves a neat routine with a chain necklace.
Also check out his "Ring Leader" Dvd. Great teaching on string / cord ring routines. Penguin Magic has it with performance video.

A ring with a card or 37 or other information you can encourage people to choose might work. Yes, but I'd recommend that your prediction be someplace out of sight (e.g., on the back of the t-shirt). https://dumbhoudini.threadless.com/designs/mwc Andy from The Jerx has a routine in his latest book that uses the t-shirt from the above link. Since the book was a limited printing for subscribers of his web site you won't be able to pick up the book unless someone is selling their copy, but you can see how the t-shirt can be used as a prediction of the 37 force. Andy's routine twists it around and disguises the 37 force to make it less obvious. It also is presented as a coincidence, rather than an example of your magic powers. Depending on your style, abilities, and goals there are a lot of things that can be done with finger rings, including gimmicked rings such as a PK ring. There are a couple of tricks with shoelaces I like, including the Self Tying Shoelace by Jay Noblezada and Laced Up by Donnovan Mount. Depending on what you mean by "wearable," you can put a loop around your wrist and be ready for a routine seemingly impromptu. Dresscode by Calen Morelli is also a good one, but you'll need to do a little arts and crafts to make the gimmick. Pinky Thing by Nick Locapo doesn't use anything at all. If you've got five fingers on one of your hands you can do that trick. I'm generally not a fan of "propless" mentalism, but if your goal is to be ready to perform something at any moment you might look into something there. If you have a smart phone there are many good effects that can be done with apps (assuming you consider sticking your phone in your pocket as "wearable"). I have a couple of coin routines where the climax of the trick is where I take my eye glasses off and give them a shake and a coin falls out. What are your magic goals and how does something wearable fit into that? Are you interested in performing formal shows for people who come to see magic or are you interested in performing casually for friends and family? Tricks (and presentations) that work great in one context are not always so good in the other. Dave |
