Hello folks,
I want to begin by thanking everyone for their support. I'm extremely flattered by the attention that this effect has generated, and I've tried to meet expecations and promises I made along the way regarding the handling and it's final release date. Well, I'm happy to announce that the manuscript is ready for release. If you'd like a copy, then follow the link below and click on "Take me to Mendoza's Magic" in the lower right corner: http://www.flipsideproductions.com/ or a direct link is: http://www.flipsideproductions.com/MAGIC/FLRT.htm I hope that after your read over your copy, you'll let me know what you think about it and perhaps use it as a spring board to create even greater rubber band effects. Thanks again, Vince G. Mendoza |

I've been lucky enough to have a copy of this PDF for the past few days and I must say this is everything it promises to be and then some.
Think of all the flaws in Missing Link...They are all gone in Mr. Mendoza's version of the effect. There is still a setup, but without the eye catching X...The setup is more difficult in my mind and will take atleast 3 seconds to perform completely, but that's just me (I just learned this 2 days ago). I believe that one-handed display (LMOH Display - pronounced ELMO) really sells the fact that the bands are linked...and the unlinking finally feels right (using Mr. Mendoza's MOM move). I found Kenner's version to be a masterpiece but the unlinking always bothered me. Mr. Mendoza has taken the effect to a new level, I know that sounds impossible, especially with this classic. The Rhing Thing is really good too...I have some experience with linking ring and rubber band effects. Pinnacle was an excellent routine, but I've altered it to include this phase because it uses the wonderful LMOH (look ma' one handed) display. The PDF also teaches a way to seemingly make the ring fall off from being unlinked...I was honestly a little disappointed with this... I just can't make it look right...It has just a feeling of being unnatural. The PDF is FILLED (I would being willing to bet well over a 100) pictures...Making it super easy to understand. It isn't a very eyecatching PDF, but you will get a very detailed PDF. I had no trouble learning (except having to scroll down while in the middle of learning the Mendoza Moce ). This is a steal, and I give it my highest recommendation. I took a lot more from it then I was expecting to. Thank you, Mr. Mendoza for releasing such a complete routine! I forgot to mention one thing that might bother some of you who are thinking of ordering this effect. The PDF doesn't talk about the patter of the effect AT ALL! This is definitely not a complaint on my part because I already have a working patter from Missing Link by Chris Kenner, but just in case for those who don't. It also doesn't really talk much about the psychology or misdirection of the moves/routines. Which I thought to be a bummer, but for what I learned and at the price I learned it I can't complain. Everything else was excellent!

Joe brings up some valid points about the manuscript.
When practicing the move, I've stated that you really need to practice it very, very slowly. DO NOT go for speed right away, you'll fail. The move is very natural and it should be practiced by itself, without another elastic band or ring. This is the foundation of the entire routine and so it's important to do it smoothly. The example I've used is that of Tai Chi, practice it that slowly. In that way, you will gain muscle memory and when it comes time to do it at performance speed, its lighting fast. If you look at the demos posted on my website and on MVD, you'll see just how fast it is. It's almost instantaneous. Once you have the move down, and then move on to the other phases. Everything else that Joe posted, I commented on in the manuscript. FALL - Allows you to appear to have the object simply fall off from its linked state. In the manuscript, I make it clear that this phase didn't completely satisfy me, which is why I went on to develop MOM. I state that MOM is the move I use to close the sequence. I do not give any patter lines and I make it clear that this was a conscious decision on my part. I'm not an ani-matron, you're not an ani-matron and so by leaving out the patter, I'm basically forcing you to think more about this effect. This too is applicable to my leaving out my beliefs regarding the psychology and philosophy behind this effect. I did it on purpose. There are lots of excellent sources if you want to delve into that arena. Secondly, this is my first endeavor, no one really knows me, and if I launched into my philosophy about magic, the manuscript would be 134 pages instead of just 34. Also, as you'll find out in the manuscript, some of my philosophies do not jive with mainstream magic and may be considered by some as heretical. I'll keep those thought for later when I've established myself a little more. I do appreciate everyone's enthusiasm about this effect. I'm very pleased with the response so far. Vince Mendoza |

Hello everyone, I must say that I'm extremely pleased with the response that the FLRT Manuscript has generated. I released the effect almost a year ago and I'm honored by the accolades that fellow magicians have given regarding not only the strength of the effects themselves, but also the quality of the manuscript itself.
I have also received a steady stream of inquiries as to when I'll release the DVD. I've given out previous target dates, but those deadlines came and went. I apologize for that, but circumstances often overtake a lot of our plans. Also if you own the FLRT Manuscript, you can see that there is a certain standard that I have. Many of you have emailed me to tell me that it's one of the best produced manuscripts you've seen, I want the DVD to resonate similarly. I promise that those of you who already own the manuscript will not be disappointed by the DVD release. It will contain several new effects not found in the FLRT Manuscript. A point of interest is that many of you have been telling me that you've been using RHING THING as an adjunct to Pinnacle. Just to whet you appetite - It's possible to do the miracle finish - UNGIMMICKED. Again, thank you for all the interest. If you're interested in seeing FOUND LINK and RHING THING you can look here: http://www.flipsideproductions.com/foundlink.htm or download it from: http://www.flipsideproductions.com/clips/ Thanks again Vince Mendoza |
