I am really impressed by the JC Spread Control. How difficult is this, and where can one learn it?
I googled it and got results referring to JC Wagner. Is it his creation or Jack Carpenter's? |

Jack said that he'll probably add his own original material demo'ed on his YouTube account to Expert's Portfolio #3 - when he's summoned up the courage to start writing it! If you subscribe to his YouTube videos, you'll discover lots of original sleights.
From what I can see from the demo, it's not very difficult but requires good timing and coordination. I first thought he was performing a pass, but it's actually much easier than that. |

Yes, it starts like a Herrmann Pass but evolves in something quite different. Very ingenious and fooling. I really enjoy Jack Carpenter's work.

In Roberto Giobbi’s first live lecture he does an effect that might help. Effectively two cards are forced with the same riffle force, a break is held and the sequence of three packets he cuts to the table achieves what you need.

Reverse bill Simon control? Perhaps using a joker to mark a place to insert the two cards?

Out of curiosity, you said you considered overhand shuffle jogs, but what about them doesn't work for you? Because that seems like an easy way to get the deck in the position you want.
If you can control two cards to the top of the deck, then it is super easy to get them in the position you want with an overhand shuffle. Jog the first card, run the 2nd card and shuffle off. Cut above the jog and the jogged card is top and the other card is bottom. If you can control two cards to the bottom of the deck, then it gets even easier to get them in position with an overhand shuffle. Milk the bottom card and shuffle off till you have a few cards then run them. |

If you are able to Faro shuffle, you can check out Pockets of Candy from The Hermit Magazine, Vol.1 No.3
This combines the UnDo Influence control from Simon Aronson with a faro shuffle, bringing the selections that the spectators cut to and remembered to the top and bottom. Cheers, Scott. |
