I already own the Clarity box. David Penn has just released via TCC his Clarity Box 2.0.
I’m wondering if these are essentially the same thing — is there anything to be gained from the purchase. PM if uncomfortable discussing publicly. |

I don’t own the Clarity Box, but do have the original Mystery Solved Box. Both achieve the same effect but use different methods (assuming so with the CB) so if you’re happy with the CB then why change?
The MB2 works the same as the original but is smaller. The handling is very simple, which is a definite positive. The box can’t be handed out afterwards though, which isn’t an issue IMO, and the reset is instant. You do need to consider angles a little when placing the box down

Not to be picky, but just so it doesn’t confuse other people… mirandas is called the vision box and penns is called mystery solved. David Regals is called Clarity box.
Miranda’s although box clean at end will require a bit more handling, especially when going to take the card out, to get the illusion smooth and looking good it will require I feel more practise than mystery solved. Personally although not hard, the positioning and timing needs to be a bit more on point with vision box compared to mystery solved, but then you can show the box as clean as vision box - so yeah pros and cons. |

I own Vision Box (Joao Miranda) and Mistery solved V1 (David Penn).
I prefer Vision Box because the display of the prediction (or card) inside the box is a bit more realistic : the paper looks exactly as it should. Also the box can remain on the table after the switch. The handling of Vision box is not difficult at all and the Dani da Ortiz's handling makes it perfect. Both gimmicks play wonderfully anyway. |

I think though with mystery box 2.0, as it’s made smaller this will aid the look of the ‘folded card’ inside. I think it also depends on your working environment. All have pros and cons but this is probably magicians guilt, I just felt using vision box even Dani’s handling, I was too conscious in worrying/making sure everything was lining up perfect before pulling out. When in the heat of performing and spectators watching you and focusing on the box, I just feel especially close up the handling needs to be spot on as with the timings with the gimmick and the real card.
