You mean a woman’s significant other would be upset with this tour of behavior from a magician?
Heck just coming out of the pandemic I’m surprised the ships let him do the routine. Nobody should be punching performers.

I personally wouldn't be happy with that routine with my significant other.
Do cruises usually vet their effects and give approval? Probably varies? and no one should be punching a performer

They have discretion yes. If they use it varies from director to director.
I agree 100% about the routine. It is just too close to the line. I’m guessing the performer knows this.

Yeah, I think the performer might have known it was maybe on the edge, to possibly generate laughs.
I wonder if the ship will make him change the routine or if he'll do that himself. If it were me, would change it immediately and not risk getting beat up. The situation could have turned out a lot worse for him

It isn’t about being beat up. It is about how you treat people on stage.

I think it’s more about encroachment without establishing consent.

He was on a national current affairs program here in in Australia last week. He said that the audiences should have known that he was openly gay, and that's why the man shouldn't have been worried that he would be hitting on his partner. Pretty sure the covid thing was not the issue with the passenger jumping up on stage.
He also said some things about the cruise ship's reaction to all that happened. Not saying he said anything wrong, but he's engaged a lawyer and from the way I saw it, his cruise show life may have ended. Surely it's hard to think they will keep having him back when he's saying that they are completely negligent and lying about what happened to him.

It was just bad all the way around. Sexual orientation doesn’t really matter. I know a magician doing a pick pocket act with male volunteers on stage that were visibly uncomfortable with being touched and manipulated to do the steals for the act. There was a magician at the Castle that felt harassed by a comedy rope routine that contained a plethora of sexual innuendos and non consensual touching. It’s just a different world and we need to be more aware of these things.

I totally get that it's a different world out there now compared to when I was a young man.
