Just goes to show why some people just should NOT be performing at all. Either that or that have such a bad idea about what magic is and should be, that they need to go back and be mentored by someone who has the right idea.

We often wonder why magic is not a higher artform like ballet or dance or theater. Well, the problem lies in those that do not take magic serious enough, or have the totally wrong idea of what magic is and should be about.

It is ok to make the kids feel empathy and to even bring a tear to an eye, but not like this.

In an "Anti-Bullying Educational Program", you can make the children realize the pain other get when they are bullied and do it in an appropriate way.

Under no circumstance does one make fun of a child, or give examples like stated in the links displayed above.

Guys, the link about the kiddie seance is a JOKE.
They clarify that at the beginning.
It's like a Saturday Night Live skit, it attempts to be serious but the whole thing is in jest.

Do you really think Inside Magic would publish something like that if they even thought it was real?
C'mon.

It appears to be real. Here is a quote from Inside Magic:
Quote:
It is the policy of Inside Magic to offer its readers new and different views on the art of magic -- even if they are offered by those who have no reputation for honesty or integrity. We are thinking about changing this policy but any change has to be approved by the Bankruptcy Trustee and that takes forever.

Anyway, we have today an essay on a new and different approach to magic for kids. Inside Magic does not approve of Tony Spain's thoughts or approach to kids' magic. In fact, we find them horrible.

With that praise, we offer you Tony Spain.

Just link up to the guest column and read the other articles. This is no joke, but someone new concept of seeking emotional impact, "Of a different type" ...

Not for Me!

Den - even reading that paragraph that you quote tells you it's a joke!

...the Bankruptsy Trustee...

....offered by those who have no reputation for honesty or integrity...

...We don't know how he died. Maybe he was hit by a car while riding his bike; got kidnapped; caught on fire while he was sleeping; or had bad thoughts that caused his heart to burst...
Kids: Silence

Oh well, believe it if you will.
Hey, did you know the word "gullible" is not actually in the dictionary?
Really, go look it up.

Well let's just hope it is a joke of some sort and that someone does not actually think this way towards entertaining kids.
