If anyone has the Nate Staniforth DVD, would you mind posting your thoughts on it? I just saw the preview, and it seems as if it might be helpful and entertaining (although you aren't exactly buying any direct methods). He was getting some pretty cool reactions on the street; I also read that he does a killer ambitious card routine. I'm not really sure if I want to purchase something like this, and whether or not it would be all that practical. Hopefully you guys can help me out here!
Thanks, Angela |

Well, I don't have it but I can tell you it would be a very entertaning DVD. It probably is good anyhow and the fact that you are watching a NORMAL guy who isn't a T.V. star, you will get to watch the full effect, meaning no stooges or camera tricks. And I have seen the ambitious card routine and it is pretty good. So I think if you want it, go get it. Watch another magician perform besides all the different ones on T.V.

Spellbinder, Nate Staniforth's video, is a good purchase. Since he is not a magic icon yet, you'll be impressed to see him perform. You'll learn presentation and handling of people through his actions and the way he handles people. Although this video is not a tutorial on tricks, you'll learn a lot in terms of misdirection, presentation and audience control. The video is well structured consisting of cards, rubberbands, spongeballs and even an escape act. Spellbinder will inspire any magician out there. His way of performing the illusion we all set is uniquely presented in his style. This performance-only dvd of Nate Staniforth is a worthwile purchase from ellusionist.

Well, I watched Nate's DVD yesterday... and you guys were right. This thing was great, and VERY entertaining. Christian- I loved the fact that he was just a normal guy; it really is nice to see how he's applied things in his own life. And Karl- he handled everybody so well, and made some of the simplest things absolutely amazing. I recommend this to everybody... instead of buying the latest instructional DVD, treat yourself to this one. It's well worth it based alone on the reactions you get to watch (my favorite part of ANY magic trick!).

The coin vanish he does is Now you See It, Now You Don't. Looks good, but not something that is very practical for all coin routines. You're better off learning some sleight of hand.
