I own the Zebra-trick from Duane Laflin, the one with the black donkey silk, the white donkey silk and the zebra-silk.
I use the story about the donkey that can't choose which color he wants to be. The result of his indecision (good English?) is that he became a zebra. I use a change bag. Does anyone have tips to make my story more powerfully? By the way, I love silks from Laflin, and I like Duane and his wife. Nice persons! http://www.laflinmagic.com/cgi-bin/web_s......match=on Thanks. Harry
Greetings from Holland

Harry,
You live in Holland so that you are probably not aware of the political parties in the USA. The Donkey is the symbol of the Democrat party (not to be confused in any way with democratic government). This is a national election year in the USA. It would seem to me that some enterprising entertainer would use these props to play with the tentative split between the black and white factions of the Democrat party with the result resolved in Zebra thinking. PS. You are right. No one has to apologize for knowing the Laflins. They are good folks. Bob Magic By Sander |

Just an idea...
The "stubborn" donkey couldn't make up his mind... First he wanted to be white (put white hanky in), then he wanted to be black (take white out, put black in), then he decided he wanted to be white again. Do all this in a fun-fast paced manner as the hankies fall to the floor. Not only was he stubborn, but he couldn't make up his mind. The kids all say the magic word "fuzzy wuzzy" to make the donkey white... but where is the black hanky gone? Oh now... it is still in the bag.... what do you think happened? Produce the Zebra silk. cheers, J. |

What about a routine using these silks to illustrate reconciliation of factions by committee? Often that means that we agree to really screw it up.
