We have discussed various impression devices on this board, but I have seen no mention of the Buma Board.
Any thoughts on this? How does it stand up to the alternatives? How effective is it? Anyone swear by it? Gianni |

It is basically Lee Earle's Clone Pad. It works well, and I like it when performing a design duplication on stage with no pre-show work.
Hope that helps, PSIncerely Yours, Paul Alberstat http://www.stores.ebay.ca/abstagecraft |

Is the Buma Board better than Vision in Black?

It's not the same kind of props and don't really do the same kind of job. Vision in black is well used in a pre-show setting but can, be used live on stage...
The Buma Board can fit both stage and pre-show setting... So which one is better depends on your needs. humbly take care kuffs |

That's not really true, both could be used in either pre-show or onstage, although with all the "test conditions" setup of VIB, it's more effective pre-show. It definitely could be used realtime, though.
Neither is really better, they're different. If you want a test conditions drawing dupe, go for VIB (if you can find it, since it's no longer sold, although its handling will be detailed in "the book"), if you want something that's suitable for more casual use, go for the Buma Board. If you can afford 'em, you might as well get both to have either option at your disposal depending on circumstances. Also, Ted has a killer multiple drawing dupe in "the book" that works in realtime, which I've contributed a neat idea on that causes the "gaff" to literally vanish by the end of the routine (nothing stolen away, nothing hidden, it actually ceases to exist :o) But I can't say more than that...other than to scoop up the book when it's ready!

I'm sorry for misinterpreting your message, it wasn't clear, because you seemed to be stating a difference between the two; from how you phrased your comments on the Buma Board, I quickly mistook your comma for an apostrophe and presumed that you mistyped and meant to write "vision in black is well use in a pre-show setting...but can't be used live on stage..."

Anyone have an opinion on the "Clairvoyant Clipboard"? I have the Buma Board and a few other impression boards, but have no idea of this clip board.

Wasn't the Buma BNoard invented some time ago by San Francisco magician Marvin Burger, or am I all wet on this? Burger hads been around for a long time & uses "Buma" as his stage name.

What is a nice beginner clipboard impression for not too much money? I am only a kid.

The Buma Board is good at its job, it works, and it's practical. Drew McAdam has used it a lot and has some very good, practical tips about using it.
Personally, I think the new Earle/Becker 'Kopy Kat' is superior, and represents the ultimate imp device. But the Buma will get the job done.
