Moon rock...is that a marketed effect? I was thinking volcanic rocks would work nice...or chips off of old tombstones.

Johne,
It's not a marketed effect...not yet. Just curious, is it possible to somehow insert a small PK type of device into a solid rock or to split a rock cleanly in half and then insert a small m inside, then to reseal the two halves of the rock together to accomplish a moving rock effect? Are there any rocks that have a natural metal core to permit a PK effect without the adding of the m to it? Best regards, MI

I've collected small geodes before (those rocks with Quartz innerds), and had them break open on natural fizzure lines. They would be able to be put back together with no obvious tamperings. Problem is...finding the perfect rock. IT would have to be smaller than baseball size to carry around LOL
Oh yea...I think Iron Ore has those properties LOL...just kidding. |

John,
I am not a rock expert, except if there is 18 year old whiskey with it, but if you did find the "perfect" rock, would you know if it is possible to bore a hole or chisel a hole large enough to hold a small m inside without cracking or breaking the rock? What type of glue or apoxy would you use to seal the two halves together again? Do you think that the weight of the rock combined with the placement of the m inside the rock would prevent the rock from moving when using a typical PK m on your wrist or knee? Thank you very much for your help. Best regards, MI John, By the way, your new picture looks a little like David Cassidy. Ah yes, the good old days of the Patridge Family, Gilligan's Island and I Dream of Jeanie.

Crafts supplies outlets sell artificial stone material. I guess it'd be easy to insert an iron core.

That is true and a good point. But it would be really nice to use a real rock or piece of stone.

I would choose a geode to work with...I Sometimes they will break apart naturally, without any sign of a significant crack. I had one that I found that I ended up breaking by pulling on it. I never even tried to put it back together, but I'm certain some carefully places portland, or mortars would do the job. Same concept when mortaring blocks into a wall.
I have a friend that collects Geodes. I'll ask him to see if he as any small slightly hollow ones to part with. If he does, I'll get one for you. PS...hillarious on the Partrige Family thing. I do kind of look like him in that pick. LOL |

Not a problem...He works here, so it's just an e-mail. I'll let you know what I find out. Perhaps we need to start a new thread LOL
