Am I the only one who is sick of paying more for magic DVD's than VHS format? The content on the DVD's I've seen are the same as the VHS version. So I say, same content, same price (or even lower as the DVD media is cheaper, smaller, lighter and easier to ship).
I can see paying more if you get more, like most movie DVD versions give you special features, behind the scenes stuff, commentary, etc. I haven't seen this with magic vids however, but maybe I just haven't seen the right vids. Regards,

Greetings,
What I really hate is not taking full advantage of the DVD media and really make it worth your money. Take, for instance, the "Expert Coin Magic" by David Roth, they put all three videos into one DVD and STILL put in a bonus routine. Now take a look at "Encyclopedia Of Card Sleights" or "Advanced Card Control", does it REALLY take 8 DVDs? I bet they could at least make it fit into 4 DVDs, even if they had to make dual sided DVDs would be much better than buying 8 DVDs, they could even cut the parts ever the performer repeats the move 10 times from every angle, once from every angle needed to learn the move is enough, because you can go back and watch it in slow motion over and over again, that's the beauty of the DVD. Or even like they did with "Pass With Care" the practice loops(?). But the DVD scene in magic is kind of new, so maybe new stuff will be realeased taking that into consideration. |

DVD is better and they charge more money, even though it is cheaper to make (a DVD disk costs them like ten cents while a vhs tape probably costs more). You can replay the video over and over without losing quality each time, and there are scene selections

Agreed. The fact that it doesn't degenrate is certainly a plus. DVD's don't cost that much more than their VHS counterpart. |

I much prefer DVDs. You can skip to wherever you want instantly. The quality is usually better. They are more durable - if you drop a VHS, you can easily break it, if you drop a CD, it's fine. You can store DVDs much easier.

Compared to DVD...I hate VHS. I hate the fastforward and rewind...I hate the quality.
I will pay more for DVDs.
