OK Card Manipulators...dig into your history books. I was rereading Buckly's "Card Control". In it he talks about preparing his cards for manipulation. However, he says that the best method is a method used by Alec Purell. The method was kept secret at the time, but has his method of preparing cards ever been revealed?

I'd be interested in reading any information anybody may have about Alec and his methods.

The only method I have used is one adapted from Jeff McBride and talked about on his videos. It works best for me.

I personaly use just a pack of Bee cards right out the box because I like the "POP" it gives after production.

Well keep in mind that new cards can work good for certain types of card manipulative moves. However, you will also learn that worked in cards are also more essential for your backpalming and transition effects.

With this in mind, I use clips and body loads to switch out my various worked in and not worked in cards during my presentations. This way I always have the proper cards for the moves I am doing.

I use Jeff's also, which is what Buckley describes. The reason I'm interested in Alec's method is Buckley states that preparing cards with the way Alec does, allows him to backpalm an entire deck with the ease that most people can backpalm 15 or 20 cards.

Now, most likely, I've caused a lot of others to jump on the bandwagon and want to know Alec's method too!

I do what Jeff does nowadays, a technique I learned from him at his and Jamy Ian Swiss' card clinic.

To me I found that using a pack of cards that are not prearped gives me more range of motion and fits my personal act, because I need more sturdy cards than really thin cards because I sometimes throw them out to people in the middle of a card manipulation sequence!
