I'm trying to find an Elvis "costume" for a Rocky Raccoon routine. At minimum it needs to have have sunglasses, the sideburns, hair, and white sequined cape.
I tried looking for Elvis dolls in toy stores in hopes of finding something in a similar size to Rocky. So far, no luck. Any ideas??? Tim |

It seems you have figured out what you need but you don't know where to get it. Neither do I. However, you could easily make the cape, or have it made. You could get a pair of doll sunglasses. You could buy a fake beard or goatee set and modify it to use for a wig. You could attach the wig to the earpieces of the glasses along with some felt sideburns. This way, it should help to hold everything in place.
Hope this helps, Regan

Some of the items, and the materals to make the rest, can be found in craft stores. The chains in my area include A. C. Moore, Michaels and Jo-Ann's. There must be the same, or similar ones, in Kansas.
There is always a section with doll items. They include little glasses, hair that can be cut to shape, etc. You can glue some colored cellophane over the glass lenses but they might have exactly what you want. I bought a pair of glasses and a little sun hat to spruce up my Joann duck. You'll possibly get some additional ideas just looking at all the doll props that are generally on display. |

Tim,
What a wonderful idea. You are one of the creative entertainers we have in Ring 129. My magic and puppet show, tends at times to be "puppet heavy". I love the reaction Bob, (my Rocky) gets. You might go with a tailor to get exactly what you want. You might also do a web search for people that make clothes for dolls or visit a craft fair that are popular in the summer and fall. Many dolls are displayed. Sometimes malls have tables set up including doll folks. Otherwise as above, in our area, you could go to Michaels, or Hobby Lobby. I am guessing you have already thought about music. For several years now, one of Nigel's (see avatar to left) favorite song is Elvis' Blue Suede Shoes..... Cue the music... One for the money, (drop the lip) two for the show, 3 to get ready, go Rocky GO! Be safe and creative. Harris

I have used the small dog/cat costumes available at some pet stores before. You may be able to find something there.

I typed "Elvis Costumes for cats" into Google, and got a few hits.
Here is one page, with the cape: http://www.ronjo.com/costume/prods/08268650432.html On this page they tell you a little more about the sizes: http://www.buycostumes.com/ProductDetail......sclassic Note, there are different sizes. Do you think a small size will fit Rocky, with slight modifications? Also, here is an adult-sized Elvis glasses and sideburns (no wig). You could pattern yours after this, or scale these down: http://www.buycostumes.com/productdetail......shopping - Donald.

Hey Tim,
I used to have a deck of "Elivis Pressley playing cards" but I couldn't do any tricks with them because: "THEY WERE ALL KINGS" THANK YOU...THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

Neznarf, what was the point of the joke regarding Elvis cards? It detracted from the original post regarding the search for an Elvis costume for rocky Raccoon. Just read the original post before you reply.
To quote you "Thank you very much" Besides, you were in such a hurry to share your 'joke' that you failed to spell either Elvis or Presley correctly. The main point is...well, what WAS your point? |

Tim rob an elf one of those small ones that make shoes. Serously though how about a Elvis presley doll? I've seen Elvis Presley teddy bears that you could use the stuf of one of them.
