I think Max Maven has a version. The effect involves fiven envelopes. Four have a blank piece of paper and one has a $100 bill inside. The mentalist claims that he will leave the room and 5 spectaators will each taake an envelope (spectators don't know which one contains the bill). Upon returning, the mentalist claims that hee will determine, in 1 try, who has the $100 envelope. If he is wrong, the person actually holding it can keep it.
Does anyboddy know where I can learn an effect of this nature? |

You can acheive an effect simmilar to what you have explained with Osterlinds Bank Night. If you don't have access to this pice of work PM me and I will give you the general idea.

Although this routine is way too good to "let out of the bag," I'll do so for those of you who stumble upon this post and do the work to make it happen.
In the October 1985 "The Linking Ring," Max Maven contributes a "Bank Night" type of routine that I have been using for almost that long. He titles it "For Deposit Only." This is a killer effect, and with a little thought you can really make it your own. The idea as I use it is that I will call upon all of my special abilities to control the spectators' choices. In some shows this has meant not giving away the $100 bill. In my favorite twist, I tell the spectators that I will attempt to control their choices for a very important reason, a reason that they will soon certainly understand, particularly if I should happen to fail. After all their choices are made and large boxes (instead of envelopes) are opened (each contains a special treat), the box that remains is opened and a six-foot long albino boa constrictor slithers out! I don't know if Max has reprinted this in one of his books that I don't have, but it is certainly worth tracking down in "The Linking Ring." If you take the time and invest a little bit of money into it, you will have a very powerful and entertaining routine. Terry
