Hey Guys,
I am looking for some trick not involving cards which deals with the subject of drawing or animation. Something as strong and simple as Cardtoon is but for a closing trick that says Animator, Drawing, Magic. A short and simple ending, not a big long ending routine. I am an Animator and I use to do traditional drawn animation, but now I have to use the computer instead. I start my routine by doing Cardtoon, a great intro to what I do. Then I pull out an another deck of cards with no little magician drawings on the back. Using a Blue deck I do the Chicago Opener(Red Hot Mama). At the ending, I explain the problem with this trick is that I'm left with a Blue deck and one Red card. I do something and the card turns back to a blue card. Now I could continue with the blue deck or I could switch decks to use a red deck for the next trick. The red deck I will do a version of Triumph. The next trick I will do is Starcle with a napkin. And here is where my routine abruptly ends. I need a simple, strong ending trick to this madness. Do you have any recommendations or suggestions for me? Thanks in Advance, Felixjr |

There is a small version of the Notepad Surprise (??) that you would probably like quite a bit. A face drawn on a sheet of paper comes to life like a puppet. It plays well pretty close up.

Have a signed card routine with a selected card (any routine like an ACR, Card To Pocket, Card To Wallet..etc) then finish with Torched & Restored by Brent Braun.

Since you like to stay with cards and you are an animator by trade you might look into cardiographic. You could make up a smaller version if you'd like. Either way it combines the two nicely and gives the spectator a great take home present on which you could have your business name and address.

Thanks Frank and RT,
Sounds like a good effect. Really anything not dealing with another card trick would be good. Felixjr |

Maybe you could use a trick that doesn't have anything to do with animation and add your animator talent to it? For example you could do Mental Epic and have them write down expressions (?) or something like that, then you can draw caricatures with the expressions they thought of... just an idea?
Also, I know you don't want another card trick but you should check out Drawn Out by Mark Mason. This might fit in with what you are doing!

Starcle plays so well I don't think you need anything else. If you do a good patter about this is how you got into magic then it ends a routine well. I do it at the end of my resturant routine sometimes, and it always gets a good reaction, and money out of their pockets. You could always use a money trick or even tri-color hot rod by magic makers.
