Two things:

I think I posted something about comedy clubs on the Café somewhere.

Second, I would only do open mic nights at clubs that pay people to play there. Too many places have open mic nights, but never pay people to work there.

I think the comedy club market has peaked, I worked it for a long time myself, but there is good (not great) money there that adds to the weekly pile.
