I've looked at one in the shop. It is awesome! I want one, but don't have the money to spend right now. It is good quality, and looks worth the price.

I saw it when it first came out years ago.(there have been a few versions of this). It's definately different. If it fits your style, go with it althoug it's a little pricey. You are always safe but there are several convincing displays where the barbs get stuck to your gloves and clothes.

There is one presently on eBay with an opening bid of only $69.95. That makes it a little more affordable.

I had this, but the handling was not for me.
The comedy routines could be endless...but I just didn't like the handling.

I've done this for years, as is obvious from my photo. I never liked it as a standalone routine and have always used it in conjunction with something else such as my regular linking ring routine.

The new rings are IMO nowhere near as nice as the older version. I bought one of the last sets that Stevens sold in 1998 which were more durable and made of thicker metal. I am not impressed with the newer ones.
I would say that these would play well if you did a comedy act. Can't get much out of them if you are a serious perfomer. There are no angle problems, but I would not suggest for close-up or strolling. You need a little distance from your audience. Don't get me wrong...I like my routine, but I would not personally buy the rings they make now. |

I'm just totally shocked these are available. My MAGIC magazine from 1998 reads (in a Hocus Pocus ad) that there is a "Limited Supply! When they're gone, that's it!"

Jim and I talked about this a while back. I remember these from a long time ago. I think I first saw them at an old Desert Magic Seminar, possibly at Stevens. I can't speak to the new ones but I do remember the old ones being well made .

I own a set of these. Terery Seabrookes routine is what you get with them. The problem is is that the routine doesn't work for (A) todays audiences and (B) American audiences. The humor is lost on Americans as well as the fact that most American audiences today don't go to shows dressed in suits and ties.
This can be a very funny piece of magic but it must be heavily reworked. I have owned mine for 6 months and I am only about a halfway through a routine for it. S. Patrick |

OK -- I hate to chime in on this -- but the intrigue, deception and rip-offs that have become rampant in magic are part of this story.
I have used Quadro Vicious Circle from almost the day it became available from Quadro and Lazar in Great Britain. A superior prop -- tremendous comedy if you cleverly figure how to use them and not get hung-up on the gimmicks. 100 per cent safe UNLESS you are performing for people with pacemakers. (Gotta think about that one several ways.) I needed some replacement stuff from Q&L a couple of years ago -- and called them at home. Quadro had decided to leave magic and NOT produce anymore effects as both vicious and Quadro Chick had been mercilessly ripped off by people NOT crediting him or paying royalties or even asking about the way to produce these properly. He did have some parts for me -- and he and another friend in magic had me send my set to the new licensee to produce them in the USA. They were NOT available during this period and did sell out. UNHAPPILY I never got back 100 per cent of my great original set -- but the new manufacturer did send me a couple of his new sets to replace. They are different -- and a little harder to work than the originals -- but not enough to mess up the shock and surprise and audience gets -- even close up. Having said that -- I also notice the new sets are less expensive even though the new manufacturer does have a solid reputation for paying royalties honestly. Just wish I had my originals though --- I guess I am just a sentimental old cowpoke hung up on the fence and barbed wire. Two thumbs up if used for humor -- 1.85 thumbs up for "serious" presentation.

I have wanted to buy this for years and have recently purchased the new version.
It fits my comedy show to a tee! but I have made my own routine. I think the props will last and are worth the money but I can't help but think they could have been a bit tidier and have a nicer finnish! I know they are supposed to look industrial but other people who have this new version will know what I mean! If it fits your style I would recomend it. In Magic Steve Dela P.S yes it is safe to perform |

Well I am definitely interested in a set of these for a comedy routine but I think I'm going to wait until I can at least see them performed in person and then hopefully see them up close. Maybe I'll see a set at Magi-Fest next year or being in the Columbus area maybe I'll have the oppurtunity to see Mr. Dustman perform them if they are still part of your act?

Joe,
I am doing a series of comedy club dinner theater shows at the Spaghetti Warehouse starting Sept. 13 through the end of the year. I will make sure to let you know the night I use the barb wire rings. Michael |

Hi Michael,
Sounds great I love the Spaghetti Warehouse and Dinner Theater and I was just discussing going out to dinner with some friends and my girlfriend sometime soon, so just let me know when and if I'm off we'll see you there. Thank-you, Joe |

I just got these today.
I ordered them from the UK (I live in Holland these days) and he had to order them from the US. I don't know what the originals looked like so I can't compare. As for finish, no they're not like a shiny new chop cup, but then they are supposed to be industrial. In that respect they look absolutely perfect. I did have to tweak the "sharp parts" on mine (can't really go into details but maybe that's just me being picky) Mr Dela; I would be interested in what routine you are working on if you don't mind sharing ideas. I also will be putting my own spin on this item I think. |
