Hi everyone,
I will be getting Paramiracles by Ted Lesley very soon, but I was wondering if I should get his Cabaret Mind Reading DVD as well. The decision will be base on these questions : 1- Do all the material in this video included in the Paramiracles book ? If no, what are the material in the video that is not in the book ? 2- Would a visual reference be really necessary or helpful or do the instructions in the book really clear and easily understandable? (I'm talking mainly of the bending wine glass effect.) Thanks a lot in advance. Renaud

The bending wine glass effect is clearly explained in the book. A whole chapter if I can remember. And, yes, all the explanations are CRYSTAL clear.

Originally, I got the book which has every thing, but I just wanted to see Ted perform so I got the DVD too.
I'm extremely pleased I got both and think Mr. Lesley is simply wonderful. H.W

In the book, the effects are explained only but no version how to perform.

You may want to pick up both, because the book has some stuff that the DVD doesn't, and vise versa.
Thanks! Scott B.

Is Black Magic III explained in Paramiracles ? Because that is basically the only other effect that I'm interested in his video. The rest seem to be card, and I'm not much into card mentalism.
And it's good that there isn't really any presentation given with the effect in the book as there's less chance for me to do exactly as him.

An alternative is to buy the finished product from Hocus Pocus. Price tag is $1,300. It just breaks my heart thinking I have neither the skills to build the gimmick nor the money to buy it. Hmmm... One question about bending wine glass:Is the gimmick something you have to modify to each wine glass you want to do the effect with or is it one gimmick that you build and can do to every wine glass? Do you have to build the gimmick again each time you perform it?

Read the book when you get it. Just a note, the bending wineglass effect is FAR from impromptu.

I have the DVD, and Ted explains the effects very well, you can surf Ted's web here:

Although I don't use the teleport envelope, I must agree... right used that is outstanding.
I, myself, would never consider to use the wineglass-bend. I don't like that much of preparation. that's all. Its an effect of beauty though. But, I stick with the philosophy of mr Cassidy: I want to be able to get all the props for a full show in the supermarket. That isn't totally true, since some of the products (coin envelopes for examples) are hard to find in stores in sweden, but you get the idea... |

Your money would be better spent on Theater of the mind by Barry Richardson or anything by Osterlind or banachek. Best of luck!

That's your taste... Richardson, Banachek, Osterlind and Lesley all have something great to offer. I don't think you should try and steer him away. You have to study all the masters if you want to become one yourself.

I've been doing "Decisions, Decisions" since 1999 and it is a trememdous piece to perform. Also, on the magic cabaret video, his Borrowed Bill in a Borrowed Cigarette is one of the strongest things I've ever seen in my life. It is so clean, I had to watch him perform it several times and still never saw the moves. Rick
