The content of the "review" page link is a Magic Café "hate site."
One mans attempt at "manual stimulation" for his own ego - and with a rather dubious fixation on toys. Actually I think he makes some good points - it's the fact he uses a review of one of my effects to slate others that makes me a little uneasy. You can't please all of the people all of the time and all that - and I'm proud of Dream Signs so as not to be particularly upset when someone decides to criticize it - after all no effect is perfect, I stand by the fact that the advertising is perfectly fitting for the effect and method themselves - I'd appreciate anyone else's views on this too, It's the only way we can move forward if we can have genuine feedback on our work - I'd certainly not want to feel that I am overselling the merits of an effect and will happily change the advert if people feel this is the right thing. I've received enough praise and thanks from others to feel that I've done a good job with Dream Signs so am not overly worried. By all means read the review and make of it what you will, but it's probably not fitting to have a link to it from the Magic Café considering the general theme is that of slagging off the founder and regular posters. Can't deny the guy has a wicked sense of humour though - as much as I want to hate him I did have to laugh out loud a couple of times (well he IS funny) Did find the Derren references a little annoying though - I've tried to lose that connection for a while and now I've got a PM box full of questions about him again - Thanks Tommy! I'm not a wannabe, nor would I want to be - I'd prefer to be happy with the stuff I do off my own back as should we all! As far as I'm concerned any review is valid - whether on not it applies to many or few is the real question - it's the first negative review I've had of Dream Signs, but I was expecting more as the method is very much designed for those with strong participant management skills and is also written with the aim for people to own and revamp it so it makes sense for themselves and there own performance styles. Either way if you put yourself out into the world you should expect both good and bad - if you are proud of yourself and what you do then that should be enough! Also it would seem that those who do let the bad reviews get to them are generally those who feel that they "had it coming." So in my mind take pride in your work, be as honest as you can in the advertising (given the restraints within mentalism and magic) and if you do this then you will be able to enjoy the good and learn from the negatives. |

How does this effect compare to Doug Dyment's Sign Language? Thanks.

Honestly, I thought Sign Language was a lot more reliable...so a better buy. Daniel's method has some merits, however, you will not use this on many people and Sign Language is a lot more surefire. It is the better buy.

I would say that it depends on how you want the effect to appear to the participant, Sign Language is more reliable for certain but I feel doesn't make much sense to the participant (considering the topic)
DreamSigns I feel makes more sense as a way to approach the presentation (again considering the topic) |

I appreciate the information. I'll give DreamSigns a try.
