My KB/PG routine from my In the Trenches DVD. I would also direct to Scott Guinn's PB & J routine.

Sorry Peter, how rude of me! I actually use all 3. I do a rabbitt routine with a gozita box, Scott's PB&J, & ladybugs as a running gag. (of course not all at once!)Tanker, I second Scott's PB&J, very comercial.

Green me bucko... I forgot you had spongy balls on your DVD, now I gotta find it and play it again.

Of course I can never remember routines, so I just make 'em up as I go along.

Mine started as carney's 2 ball routine.

then I added a purse frame to enhance the first production.

then I added a 3rd ball to enhance a production.

... and then a 4th to enhance a vanish.

then I added a couple of squeekers a la David Williamson in the middle of the routine to break it up.

So far, that's my favorite.

I recommend both Pete Biro's bucko's routine (paul's)
and Scott Guinn's routine.

Roger Klause's SB up the sleeve!!!
Combine this with Dean Dill's routine from his Intimate Miracles book and you have winner that's even good for fellowmagi's!

I like Scott's routine also!

Damn...looks like this thread is getting the SB's out of that deep drawer again;-)

I'm using a modified version of Colombini's "Throw in the Sponge." In the final phase the sponge ball changes to a half dollar, leading into my coin routine.

I use Scott Guinn's Peanut Butter and Jelly sponge ball routine and have had really great reactions consistently with it.

Standard Sponge Ball Routine very similer to the instructions that came with your balls... Finising it off with a Dragon Egg revelation or Caught Red Handed!

I just yesterday ordered my first set of 3D Bunnies. I'm really looking forward to using those!

After performing 2 basic routines for months and months, I found in my own situation that the most important elements of a sponge routine were 1) having the spectator part of the action for at least 2 of the phases, 2) a multiple ball revelation (LOTS!), 3) a logical start and end, 4) a routine that doesn't telegraph that something is going to happen in their hands, and 5) a clean way to get balls in and out of your side jacket pocket. So I put these pieces together and worked to come up with some patter that supported these premises and made sense. I think I spent too much time on spongeballs, but I love the results. It's one of those routines that you feel really good about and don't think it can be improved...at least not with my current skills as a magician.

I had an old routine that after the first two phases, the spectator was expecting something to happen in his hand so I knew I had to change it. The strength of spongeballs comes from this fun and surprising little thing that is bopping around and you don't really know what's going to happen. I think it's key to not telegraph what's going to happen. The stronger the surprise, the stronger the burst of laughter you receive as a reaction.
