I'm trying to track down a made for tv movie/ mini series that was based in part on the revolutionary war or the colonial era. It would have been between 1981-1983. It would have been broadcast on one of the majors ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX. I'm thinking CBS.
I know it was also out in a video box set. Wish I would have bought it when I came across it ten years ago. Any help would be appreciated. I've tried just about ever concieveable search string on the internet that I could come up with to no avail. Thanks, Shawn

Are you talking about either Shaka Zula or George Washington? They were both done in the early 80s I believe.

Shawn, what you're talking about sounds familiar... Is this the one where the little girl tried to jump over a camp fire and burned to death? Sorry, I remember that from a mini-series when I was a kid and that scene always haunted me.

I thought it might have been George Washington I have my doubts but believe I have seen that one as well. It really stinks when you can't remember anything about a show but are trying to find it.
It is not Shaka Zula but I appreciate the help Greg. Reis I don't remember that but then again I don't remember much of the series at all. There was a scene in another mini series around that time that had something to do with American Indians. A part from that has always haunted me. An indian took two porcupine quills and shoved one thru each of his pectoral muscles, a rope was tied to each quill, the free ends where then tied to the top of a small tree and he had to pull on the tree using only his pecks for like 2 or 3 days. Why he had to do that I donno but the image stuck with me. Thanks for all your help guys.

Now I know what you are talking about, but it's from a movie called A Man Called Horse. That's a very famous scene in it where the hero has to go through that ceremony to prove he can enter into the Indian group.
