We have had Dr Zodiac's Ultimate (Imaginable) Effect
Check it out, it's very funny But what is the Ultimate Effect that you have actually done or seen done? Mine seen is Lennart Green's Top Shot My performed one is a modified Top Shot Seen/experienced Name a thought of card by Steve Tucker. We were discussing fishing He did it to me so smoooothly that I was absolutely amazed even though I knew what he was doing. When I am doing a reading and throw out a name that strikes home. What are your Ultimate effects, bits or moves? Please stick to Factual not imaginary and Mentalism/Magic Cheers TJ |

It's a tie between (1) making someone forget their name or (2) Bent Over Backwards. They both have the effect of jolting people in such a way they're forced to re-evaluate their definition of reality.

I do an effect, where a word/number name/place anything is chosen. This word is then written on white board for the people who are sitting at the back in case they didn't hear it said (this is a parlour effect. I then cleanly as you like reach into my inside pocket and pull out an envelope which is torn open to reveal the word/number (whatever) predicted. This really knocks people out. It's just so clean. The effect I suppose is nothing new but the methodology is entirely mine, so far. It is just so sneaky and clean and gives me such an enormous grin when I pull it off, just right.
Also my version of Derren Brown's invisible deal.

Making someone forget their name can be done by using the RGM effect in Luke Jermay's 7 Deception. It's very nice and lots of fun.
The second effect I am not familiar with.

The first is done using straight suggestion; check out Ormond McGill's Encyclopedia of Hypnosis (the old one, not the New Encyclopedia), for the method I first used to create what I use now.
The second is something inspired from Ford Kross' underground gem, Suggestive Mentalism. Excuse me if I don't give anything away... it's too good. (It's my routine, so you won't find it anywhere; regardless, I still recommend you get a copy of Suggestive Mentalism - it's fantastic). |

Hi
Thanks Jordan and Procyonrising I have been working on streamlining Out Of Sight,OOM and the necessary sleights. I will have to get back to the real stuff Luke,Ormond and Ford do. This Topic hasn't brought much response. Probably the clumsy title I'll reword it and put it in under propless and impromptu. Two good Buzz words. Watch for it. Thanks again, TJ |

Hey TJ,
Re-reading my post, I realize I was a bit too cryptic. I still can't bring myself to give anything away, but I'll say this: you need something 100% reliable to fall back on. Either doing something that kills and works all the time to open or follow the suggestive stuff will give you the confidence you need to show it to everyone you meet. Something especially important when you have to really impress an agent or client; you need to leave them with the impression that you never really fail. |
