Hi:
I can comment on their family show products, but don't have any of the bizarre/mentalism tapes. I have about 10 of their videos and 20 of their audio tapes. They are very expensive compared to other products in today's market, but I have found valuable information on every tape (video and audio). The production quality is usually good, but not great. Don't expect fancy graphics and L and L quality, but the information is always good, IMHO. Brian Flora died about 2 years ago, so nothing new has been produced since then, but I still recommend their tapes. I hope this helps you. Ron |

I agree with Ron; Flora and Company has a arather extensive range of audio and video tapes - ranging from family entertainment to bizarre magic (courtesy of a younger and hairier Doc Hillford. Also there's some early Dave Risley stuff! The videos are great value for money and Brian gives a lot of valuable 'workers' tips - notably on the magic Class, School Assembly and balloon videos.
I too was saddened by brian's demise, but the company is in good hands - now run by his widow Jan! They're a fast, efficient and personable company to deal with...check them out! http://www.floraco.com |

I'd like to also say that video's and audio tapes from Flora & Company have helped me in numerous ways in marketing and promoting my Medicine Show. I've been a customer of Flora & Company since 1997...never been disappointed with anything I've purchased.
I was lucky enough to have met Brian in 1997, and I have a photo of Brian and me...he was a great magician and performer...and shared his knowledge about marketing and show business generously. If you want to improve your marketing and your show...and you have not yet added any of the material from Flora & Company to your library...then you are missing out. Continued Success, Doc Dazzal http://www.docdazzal.com |

Brian's wife Jan now runs the company and she is wonderful.

I second that! Jan is a very nice lady to deal with, she remebered me when I placed a small order recently...but the last time I ordered from them was in 1996 (I think). Also, Brian's stuff gave me a lot of food for thought...he was a practical man with a flair for comedy and business sense. Get his manual called the"Magic marketing manual' and also his audiotapes on marketing . Perhaps jan can rerelease them on audio CDs?

I would say Brian's materials have helped me with my performing more than anyone else's. His Magic Class tapes drastically changed the way I approach magic workshops.
I still listen to his Magic Marketing Update series. The information is still excellent, but I smile each time I listen to Brian talk about his new "state-of-the-art" dot matrix printer and other early 90's gadgets. Professional Techniques for Performers and Routining Entertaining Magic are favorites also. Heck, at one time, I was even thinking of getting one of the little organs that Brian was making. His tapes also convinced me that I could learn to blow up 260 balloons. I liked everything Brian did. Ron |

Hey Guys, thanks for the input. I do have Selling your act and I just wanted peoples input on what they thought about the information. I like the gorilla marketing techniques. Before my depression I had lots of Brian's stuff. depression does a lot of crazy things including getting rid of all your flora tapes and videos. I am trying to write down the balloons covered on the balloon video. Can someone help me with the list and email me the list of balloons on the tape. That video helped me prove that I can do balloons and as far as I am concerened this is the best part of my show.
Later all~ Richard ps: Jan remembered me too, when I started ordering again. I wonder what Brian would be doing as a performer now of days? |
