Gary Kurtz uses gigantic hands to a great advantage. If anyone has ever seen his lateral palm (I think that's what it's called), you know what I'm talking about. For those who haven't, imagine classic palming a card sideways.
Small hands have never been a problem for me. Mainly because I don't have small hands. But windows.. Windows are an issue. Why oh why God did you curse me with these windows between my fingers!!!??? Dr Magic  |

I believe Malini had small hands. There are alternative slights for people with small hands, e.g. the gamblers cop instead of a classic palm. Rene Levand has only one hand but he does false shuffles and seconds better than most magicians.

I've had minor problems doing Side Slips, Forton Pop Out Move, Kelly Bottom Placement, The Classic Pass and some other sleights.
My fingers are kind of short and don't fully wrap around a poker deck. I've either had to come up with alternative sleights or make handling adjustments. |

Regarding windows. I have them due to my finger injuries from playing basketball.

My hands are like spades which make some sleights difficult as it like wearing gloves!

Hi Everyone!
I have small hands and they haven't been a problem so far. In fact, in some ways, they're an asset because no one would ever suspect that I COULD palm a poker sized card, so they don't look for it. I owe any card palming ability that I have to Michael Close's "The Power of Palming" video, and I highly recommend it to anyone trying to learn to palm, regardless of hand size. Wendy

I have small hands even for a woman and used to feel that I would be limited when it came to card sleights, but I had the priviledge of meeting Julie Eng at Magifest a couple of years ago and she had tiny hands and when I asked her about how she did sleights - specifically palming, she said it was more about misdirection than hand size. I think that sums it up.

I have big hands and can only speculate from my perspective, but I don't think that it matters. I met Oz Pearlman once and he seems pretty small (well at least to me he does) and he is one of the most gifted cardicians I have ever met.
