Guy imagine working in a city where they don't have Christmas it is the Winter Festival! Yep that happen two years ago in Bimringham UK, but they celebrated Passover and Dwahli - it reverted back the following year but it is about adapting to the needs of the client and the political climate.
As for shows being adapted or changed to suit a venue - if you don't like it - you can always try and get booked "Act As Known". Then they can't ask you to change material as they knew what they were booking.

Every stereotype has a modicum of truth in it -- otherwise it wouldn't BE a stereotype.
Remember H.L. Mencken's description of puristanism (it could do equally as well for PC): "The haunting fear that someone, somewhere may be happy." Looking for a target these days? Then join the assault on the white, middle-class male! |

HI,
I find it strange that some people scream political correctness, yet often those same people are blindly discriminatory in other ways, several of my friends are quite wealthy (one in particular is a multi milionare) now actualy he is a nice guy but many people dislike him for no other reason than he has money. there seems to be a definite dislike to people with money in the UK I do not really know why. I entirely agree Phillip, "I CAN'T STAND INTOLERANT PEOPLE!"

It's not just the UK, Phillip. Our recent election featured a guy worth billions who's entire strategy was to create class envy against the evil rich -- figure THAT one out!

I'm going to dislike people with money until I have lots of money and THEN people with money will be ok in my books.
But, if you have lots of money and you give me some, I will like you |

Hi, Are you saying then that having money means he is not average (I am talking as a person now not with regards what he can buy and do) Phillip |

Jealousy of wealth and success is I believe, an odd British infliction.
USA people I find tend to admire and congratulate people who've made a buck or two. But when blatant vulgarity, ignorance and arrogance are combined with wealth then it can create a highly obnoxious individual. Tony. |

This isn't magical, but it is on-topic. I have been researching the history of PC recently and when do you think was the first written reference to the term "politically incorrect"? 1980? 1970?
In fact in 1793 (yes, 1793) a US Supreme Court ruling decreed that proposing a toast to "the USA" was "politically incorrect" and that instead the toast should be to "the people of the USA". Such linguistic pedantry would not be unfamiliar to the PC gang these days! |
