I had a wonderful time meeting Peter Marucci this summer. He is as warm, kind and generous, in person, as he presents here at the Café. I enjoyed his humour and charm.
I picked up some of his lecture notes and an effect called "The Bullet Catch." The response for this card effect has been amazing. It is a simple effect, but well conceived and it flows brilliantly. Peter has scripted some patter, but the bullet catch creates its own humour. Crowds love it as it presents the opportunity for much banter and even double entendre. It is ideal for walk around, because it is very easily reset. The cards can be used for other routines and they are also one-way, though this has no bearing on the bullet catch itself. I have had a tremendous amount of fun with the bullet catch. It is one that my wife recommends that I load myself with, if I am going out. High praise indeed! As I have said, this is a common effect. Peter has made it brilliant by incorporating the bullet catch angle. Cheers - El Lamo P.S. I am recieiving no financial gain from this unendorsed plug. I sinply have had a huge amount of fun with the bullet catch and wanted to share it with others.

My comedy bullet catch is titled "The World's Most Dangerous Card Trick" (it isn't!)and retails for $12 (U.S.) available from me at:
Peter Marucci 270 St. Andrew St. East Fergus, Ontario, Canada N1M 1R1 Payment by money order or check on U.S. bank. The routine does NOT involve a gun but does involved a deck of "smiley face" cards. The spectator selects one, it is returned to the deck and the deck shuffled as the magus patters about the bullet-catching trick. The spectator then makes a gun of her finger and pretends to fire at the deck. Her card is found under a series of comic events. Believe me! You WILL use this one! cheers, Peter Marucci |
