Hello everyone.

I need some STRONG magnets. I have searched the various websites....and even emailed a few....but unfortunately...customer service doesn't seem to be one of their strongest suits.

Anyone have a good source with good service where I can obtain some magnets?

What do you need?

Size?
Shape?
Strength/Grade? Commonly measured in "N". For example: 50 is VERY, VERY high!

Something that will hold a max of 30-40 pounds....maybe a little less...I am not sure exactly.

I'm a customer of Wonder magnets (AKA forcefield) they are great and have fast shipping.

We used a 50 pound-hold magnet on our Selbit Sawing mechanisms which work wonders. They are purchased at Harbor Freight Tools in Long Beach, CA. Hope this helps.

Wondermagnets.com. You could always make an electro magnet if you like. Those are simple to make and very effective, although it depends on what you are using it for, a light/Heavy box, yes, a ring, no. =)

Wondermagnets didn't answer any of my emails.

I was not impressed.

Wow, joey, how did you do that with your avatar?

its amazing!
What do you get if you cross a navy vessel, a scooter, and a card magician? A scooter that can run on water whilst earning £200 a night for being a con-man!

Go to an industrial supplier. This one does fill one-up orders.

Look under raw materials and VOILA! There are magnets! Electro, Rare Earth, Alinco whatever your heart desires.

I've bought powerful magnets from Forcefield (aka http://www.wondermagnet.com). They provide excellent service. If you need info, why not call them? I've spoken with them and they were very friendly and helpful.

Another source for powerful magnets (and other stuff that may be of interest) is American Science and Surplus http://www.sciplus.com

It's an animated gif file. There are a couple of utilites out there that will let you create your own animated gifs, try a search on download.com. Then just add a little more white to your eyes in each succeeding frame.

You can get strong magnets from old hard disc drives. They're only small though but are of the rare earth variety and suitable for certain close up work.

Many Blessings!!
