HI Looch, not sure what you are asking. To me it looks more like you are talking about binary. Mnemonic is memory, in this case the common numbers would equal to T, N, R, F and TJ sound including T, D J, SH and CH. Of course there are other variations. These would then interpret into words like Hat, Hen, Hair, Dish.
I suspect you were tired and meant Binary?

Just to keep on the dual path that this thread has taken, here's a great history of the phonetic alphabet used in mnemonics:
About the "feinaiglers*" who developed the number alphabet ...and here's a history of the development of binary numbers: MadSci Network: Science History: What is......numbers? ...and, finally, to tie everything together, here's a great article on mnemonics for binary numbers: Mentat Wiki: BinaryNumbersSystem |

I couldn't pass this question up. That is to say, "How Old" the idea of mnemonics are.
Well, we could look at the Tarot as one good example. It's a few hundred years old and one of its original purposes was to help people recall the hero tales of the Gospels, the morality set therein, etc. A great number of mentalist who attempt to do Readings on the side aren't very successful in learning systems like Palmistry because there is no "memory trigger". Yet, most anyone that applies a little effort can quickly grasp the meaning of Tarot cards. This is because of the illustrations within each card and how, after repeated study and use of the card, we can more easily translate them or "Read them" (after all, it is a kind of language.) This is one of the reasons we old salts of the Reader's trade jokingly refer to them as "cue cards." The Hebrew alphabet and most other such systems likewise contain mnemonic value as well as dualistic or multiplistic meanings. The Ogham used by the Druids and much of the Celtic world had it's own sign language and other "covert" methods of application that are akin to the code techniques used in stage mentalism. At the same time, a single symbol could be used to trigger a plethora of information on a wide range of issues. This latter application being very common within the Bardic elements of the Gaelic Mystery schools, a practice that was quasi-adopted by many early Christian monasteries, especially after Patrick's reign of terror over the Emerald Isle (the "snakes" driven out of Ireland by the famed "Saint" were the Adder Priests of the Druid Community via Patrick's acts of genocide. Long story, but the historical facts are there for anyone wishing to look them up.) Well, just my two-cents on the topic. |

(Oddly, I didn't have much trouble remembering the names of the lines and mounts.) I finally decided that I needed to fall back on mnemonics. I came up with the following method, using acronyms. I will use the Saturn mount as an example. A person with a large Saturn mount likes Solitude, is Analytical, and is Taciturn. S - A - T. Saturn is also easy because I picture the planet Saturn with Mr. Spock standing on it. And if anyone has Saturn tendencies, it's Spock. |
