I was at a local magic shop and the guy showed me a trick in which he had a $1 and a $5 folded lengthwise and then in half. He showed me the routine where the $1 and the $5 would keep changing places in his hands. What is the name of this trick?? Thanks!

Is it Ghost Bills? I am not quite sure.

I believe it is Tom Ogden's 5 and 1 transposition found on Michael Ammar's Easy To Master Money Miracles volume#3. Just so you know it does involve a Gimmick unless you use the one Paul Harris does that is in his book Art of Astonishment vol. 1 called buck naked, that one is impromptu. Hope this helped

I've seen a manuscript by Eugene Burger on this, as well as a more elaborate version by Roger Klause. I don't know the exact names of either of these, but without seeing it I wouldn't know which one you saw.

These are all variation's of UF Grant's trick.
Roger Klause's version is excellent. |

Uh-uh. Don't you know magic wasn't invented before Michael Ammar?

Sounds like U.F.Grant's Slow Motion Bill Switch...

I thought that trick was supposed to buried in Grant's Tomb. Now I'm really confused.

The UF Grant item is in Tarbell 3. It's called "Grant's Slow Motion Bill Transposition."

It could be one & five trick by Mike Bornstein. It is pretty clever, and has a very open look to it. I used it for many years as a great "apparent imprompu" effect. He told me at LVMI, he was making them with the new bills and they even look better.

I think Daddyof2 is right, I think it's "Buck Naked" by Paul Harris. The guy was telling me about the AOA book series when he showed me that effect along with the "Las Vegas leaper".

The gaffed bill thing dates WAY back and this is getting scary. you fold the bills down to 1/8 size right?

"Beswitched" is George Hemple's version of the Grant effect.

Sounds like you can do a bill switch either with or without a thumb gimmick to create the same effect.
just use you own patter. |
