Martino-
I strongly recommend Gary Plant's card box. I had the pleasure of seeing it, among other Plant's genius inventions, last year that the Dallas Close-up convention. The only draw back I might see is durability. I would contact him for specifics, but it is by far the cleanest version available. The gaff is ingenious! |

Variable,
I am now the proud owner of the Gary Plants gaff and it's everything I thought it would be and more. I recommend it. If you were using it a dozen times a night, 7 days a week it probably would wear out fairly quickly but then if you use it that often then IMO it's worth paying out regularly to replace it!

I use a gaff like the Mark Paul one mentioned earlier in this string. If you are familiar with this version how does it compare with the Gary Plant's gaff? You can send me a PM so we don't give it away. Cheers Joe |

Check out Jay Scott Berry's Symphony of the Ring and Ribbon for a great ending.

I cause the ring to be knotted on the string, so that it won't slide off. It uses a knot tying move from Daryl's rope routine.

I use the lighting ring box from Mark Leverage (spelling) I call it the wounder box because we wonder whats inside well, the string is. this starts us off in to the ring and string routine at the end of the routine the ring vanishes hum..I wounder where it is. in the wounder box ! they take the top off and pull out their ring I stuff the string back inside and it's reset. you could also do this with the vox box works with or without a table.
Nothing of the same will bring any change, take action today!

One classic ending (I think originated by Rich Marotta) is to have the ring vanish from the rope at the end of the routine.
You remove a small rectangular cardboard box from your pocket, take off the lid, and inside is the ring -- however, it's on what appears to be a cut-off finger resting on a bed of cotton! As the spectators get over that shock, the finger starts to rise up at an angle out of the box. You remove the ring, put the lid back on the box, and put the box back in your pocket. It shouldn't take a genius to figure out the method (can you say "hole"?), but it's a wonderful funny finale to a ring routine for the right crowd. Jerry |
