Hi, I'm 13 years old and I do a small 8 min. magic show. I want to add to my magic show. I currently have 50-100 dollars to spend could anyone reccomend some good tricks? I hate card and money tricks (solid money (meaning 25, 10, 5, 1 cents) but I like paper money tricks) I want some tricks and if possilbe some that require almost no set up. I own a 3 Piece Suite, bowtie and the popular cape (I used it once in a party for my family (my 10 year old cousin because he's the one that wanted it)) I also want some information about "The Zero Gravity Levitation by Mike Bent" Everwhere I go I hear it is bad. I own some old allstars and I want to know if anyone knows where to get the instrucctions to do it for free (I can TRY to find the materials). Here where I live (Puerto Rico) there are about 26 magic shops that I know of so I can check em out with my parents. I'd also like some information on "The House (aka "No Strings Attached") by Ray Cooper."
PS: Thanks for all the help. PPS: Will this trick start to stop working after I keep using it alot: Its the From flame to rose and from rose to hankershif PPPS: Sorry for my bad grammar I'm from Puerto Rico and my english gramar is still kind of lousy. PPPPS: I have my whole act on video in .rm format so if you want to check it out (its in spanish) its 6mb. |

Zero Gravity is not very practical. The work and materials required to make the gimmicked shoes (they have to be Converse shoes, or a shoe with a thin sole) cost much more than the price of the booklet. I've seen gimmicked Converse shoes for sale somewhere, but I don't remember where.
The House is a very simple and great levitation setup, but the setup is stationary (you can't move it with you)and you have to set it up before hand. |

I would suggest getting a copy of the Mark Wilson Course in Magic. It is a very inexpensive magic book with all kinds of professional-level magic to learn there, including cups and balls, silks, mind-reading, billiard balls, and stage illusions.

You want "Mark Wilsons Complete Course in Magic." The other one is an abreviated version of the complete course. This book contains years worth of study and enough quality material to create many complete magic shows.

In my opinion, if you want the most for your money, then get Mark wilson's book. as far as levitation, I would wait on that. I have three different levitations, and I hardly ever use them. also, get a thumb tip. these don't cost much, and they can be used for so many things. vanishes, changes, ect. and if you like paper money magic, then a thumb tip can help with that alot. take the advice of these members, they have been in this magic business for a long time.

Books, get lots of books.
Books can teach you hundreds of GREAT effects. I agree with the Mark Wilson suggestion..
