So to all you lucky people who actually have an Xbox, what do you think of Halo 2?
I'm actually thinking about buying an Xbox, because I have a bit of spare cash. Still, it's a lot of money. Shane Wiker |

Shane, the $150 cost for a new X-box today is much better than the $300 cost when MS first released it. It's a good investment and it'll never get old. Just don't let it suck you out of magic because the box can be very addictive. :0)

I got 30 bucks off, plus 20 in credit for the games, so all I had to pay was tax. The collector's edition is cool. It's got a slick metal box and bonus DVD. I got the game at 4:00 today, and it is now 11:00. I played for seven straight hours, very rare for me. I have to go eat some food (skipped dinner!) Very fun game. |

I played Halo-2 yesterday (three hours), and I don't know what the hype is all about. I must really be old not to get into it.
It's a first-person shooter with lots of graphics, guns and aliens. After shooting about 200 of them on the ship, dying a dozen times, I got bored and fell asleep playing the game. I love Rainbow Six, however, the graphics in Halo are superb compared to Rainbow Six. I cannot make the connection to why "Halo is so hyped." What makes this X-Box Game, other than the graphics, so "loved"? What am I missing here, beside the generation gap?

DenDowhy For me, one of the main things is the story. I am usually not into sci-fi at all, but this "saga" is really interesting. I mean, the story is so involved that it took three novels to explain the stuff in addition to the games. I never read them, but the story really is deep. That being said, the gameplay is top notch. The controls on a game don't get much better for my money, the presentation is blockbuster like (two hours of cinematic in a game!), and, of course, the graphics are insane. The main draw for most people, however, is the multi-player. This is what has kept people playing the first Halo religiously for the last 3-4 years. I think many gamers would agree it is very rare when a console first person shooter gets multi-player right. The last game that I can think of that had such addicting multi-player was Goldeneye for the N64 (and that was about 7-8 years ago). So, in general, the main draw to Halo is that it is a gem among video games. Like I said, 99% of games they come out with today are crap and they show it. Every now and then a game like Halo, or Mario, or Zelda comes out and their quality shows because so much effort went into making them the best games they can be. That's why this game is so loved, it simply does everything better than any other of its peers, and gamers recognize the best when they see it. |

Yea, a lot of Halo is the multiplayer. It kills any competition - Halo, and Halo 2, are the best multiplayer games of all time. You can have up to 32 players all fighting each other at the same time!

It was interesting. |

I had a Halo 2 party yesterday. It was great! We had 16 players at once.

Well, my son and I go by the name Storm Trooper, he rocks and is deadly (10 years old) and can be found in the top of the charts on Multi-Player Games. When Strorm Trooper is at the bottom of the charts, I's me playing.
The multi-player has a variety of weapons, vechiles that fly, warthogs (Jeeps) that drive, alein tanks, and their anti-gravety motorcycle. All doing different things at the same time. Halo-2 is about multi-player more so than the actual game (which is quite good, & just getting into it). See you/hear you online!
