Hi All,
Here's soom articles I came across I thought you might enjoy, The exhibition of freaks, monstrosities or marvels of nature were essential components of travelling exhibitions in Europe and America throughout the Victorian period. What was saleable as far as the freak was concerned was, of course, physical difference, in a form that was both marketable and palatable. Freak Shows by Dr. Vanessa Toulmin is a new contributor to our Good Old Days section http://www.knddesign.com/sc/ths-tgod.html “Menagery is a Place where they keep Animals of several Kinds for Curiosity” (Oxford English Dictionary Second Edition) " Traveling Menageries" by Timothy Neal is a new contributor to our Good Old Days section http://www.knddesign.com/sc/home.html "See Marvel Thrill" The days of the sideshow freak have vanished. Modern sensibilities rightly find the idea of putting human deformity on display distasteful. However, there's still a market for outrageous displays of virtuoso insanity, as the success of acts such as The Jim Rose Circus and Penn and Teller attest. Wishing you the best, U.S.

As usual good stuff John! Thanks.
Speaking of Monsters...I found something in the storeroom which you're going to like that goes along with a certain 'monster' you now own. I'll send it when I feel like standing in line at the PO. Doug
