Has anyone seen or used one of these tables? They've been advertised for three or four months in Genii and look terrific... Just curious if anyone has seen one up close.
Well, there haven't been any replies... in the meantime, I just got one yesterday... very attractive, with two different tables on which to perform. It also has a lock to keep props inside a well-organized drawer. Will report back after I've tried it out. |

US Toy Magic has a link at http://www.ustmagic.com. Unfortunately, I have never been able to find anything on their website about the this particular product... the Genesis Performance platform is advertised in Genii as mentioned. There's a phone number also... 913-642-8427. Apparently the tables are put together only when ordered... mine took almost 8 weeks to arrive. It's a very well made product. Hope this helps.

The guys at US Toy Magic are good fellows. They do have one of the biggest magic shops you will ever see, and their lecture setup is not to be sneezed at. I had the pleasure of visiting them when I was touring with Ted Lesley last year, and again when I was at the Collector's weekend this year.
If you are ever in the area, don't miss the shop. And if you are into carnival lore, ask Philip to show you his giant rat and his pickled punk.

I believe their shop is in Kansas? I don't get to the midwest much these days, but I will keep it in mind. The materials offered on their website are impressive.

Its an amazing table. My favorite table ive ever seen. It has quite a few card and coin pulls for productions. A little pricy though.

I've always considered myself lucky to live in Kansas City as well as being into magic like I am. I'm at US Toy at least once a week. And IBM Ring 129 just exceeded 100 members, and the SAM #38 BobKlamm Local isn't to be sneezed at either.
It's never to late to have a happy childhold!

I've been by there a couple of times. It's really impressive. It's not actually IN Kansas City, per se. It's in Leawood, which is right on the edge of Kansas City.

Many thanks on your comments about UST Magic and the Genesis Table. As the manager of the Magic Shop I am glad to see that your experiences have been positive.
The Genesis Table is an amazing performance platform. It took over a year in the development just to make sure we were addressing major attributes of the table that would be important to the professional performer. We also wanted the table to be built to last for years as a keepsake to keep your most important close up props. We feel that the Genesis platform is an exceptional value for the price. Initially when the table was blueprinted. We went to only the best cabinet makers that did custom work to price this for the market. Most quality cabinet makers would not even produce this table for less than $1,200. We were very fortunate to have found a quality craftsman that appreciates the Art of Magic that was willing to help us on this project. These are normally in stock however due to the demand we have seen, we have been producing them at about 6-8 weeks delivery time. Keep in mind that this is also a limited production item and once we sell 100, we will not produce this classic original platform. I hope that many of you have the opportunity to see one up close...you will be extremely pleased with the quality and versatility that it offers. Let us know how we may be of service to you in the future. If you have any additional questions about the platform. Please let me know and I will respond on this forum. Andrew BTW...Bill, thanks for your compliments. Stop in and see us the next time your in town. Best Wishes, Andrew |

Andrew, Jeremy, and the rest of the guys are great! I live 2 hours away and try and make it at least once a month. They are always extremely helpful. I was hoping to see the Genesis table at Christmas, but they unfortunately didn't have one on hand.
If any of you are ever in the KC area, make sure you stop by. You won't be disappointed. Scott

Well... lots of posts since I last checked this thread. I really like my table a lot. It looks great and the storage is excellent. I do worry that the extra molding might warp over time... I keep it in the drawer for now, and use the platform to store cards, a set of cups and balls... and an egg bag I'm working on.
If drew has any thoughts on how to keep that slender piece of molding for the table safe, I'd welcome them. Once again, this is a great table. |
