I've seen a video performance on this, but instead of the nickel a dice is being used. The effect: a dice is placed on the palm, and closed into a fist. When opened, the dice is gone! The hand is closed again into a fist (empty), when reopened, the dice is there.
Anybody knows where we can get this classic?

I have never seen one with a die. Do a search at a good dealer, or better yet, email them with the question.

I would love to learn it too. All I know was that it was Sigfried's first trick.

Thanks for the feedback. The dice (die) is just used in place of the coin, same principle though.
If you happen to encounter one, please advise. Will search the net for this.

Fickle Nickle can be purchased at http://www.vanishingrabbit.com. It is a site that I have recommended often since it is in my local area and it has a physical premises. Once you read the effect, you will quickly realize that it can be adapted to a die, using the exact same method and movements.
Warning: Fickle Nickle is extremely angle sensitive and does require some set up prior to performance.

But he learned it from a man called Arthur Sanders. Nordnes made it known, at that time, when he published it in the German periodical "Magie" in the mid thirties. And that predates mr. Cornelius with about 40 years... T. Nordnes was also the editor of the Norwegian magazine "Magikeren" from 1928 to 1956, and he may have published it there. The greatest exponent for the (original) effect today is Finn Jon, who learned it from Nordnes in the fifties. Finn is usually prepared to do it at "the drop of a hat", which explains why Jon Racherbaumer saw him do it in an elevator in Toronto... Bjørn Johansen

Any book with John Cornelius' name on it is worth buying.
