I recently was with someone who wanted to use the ol/ ouija board....I brought the magic loops and used 'em to mysteriously move the palette thingamajig...the woman turned pale faced, and was terrified! I then proceed to do the miracle suggested by Neil Tobin w/ the beloved XPERT and the coins...(go to his site, necromacer.com), and she started to cry...true, we love these candidates, they give us more determination to show people the "other side of things.." just wanted to share a thought...nuff respect to the NECROMACER, youve propelled my magic into the MYSTICAL and MYSTERIOUS a thousand fold!!!

Glad you're enjoying the Xpert, Babakali! But please, use your powers for good rather than for evil. Best, Neil

Sorry, for the wrong url brother...
for sure I use it for what it is...remember, us Magi were called evil by the so called religious way back when, and dare I say, even today...the woman cried, but it wasnt outta terror, but sheer astonishment...I always explain to them that you cant have "magic" without "logic," i.e., theres always an explanation, even though it may be hidden in the ILLUSION of it all... anyways, is the only way to obtain refills by buying 45$ worth..cant I get one or two sometime?? also, while I have ya, do you know any specific brand names of cards that work...and finally, did you release the routine booklet yet? respect Necromacer babakali Just thought I would tell all the Xpert users that I have found that almost any cheap playing cards that are "plastic coated" will surely work...no worries when you switch from Bikes to these during your routines...I simply tell them I use the cheaper card so I can write on them and throw them away! come on my Mystics...lets add some ideas! |

So the Xpert is worth it then?
I want to try and figure it out, everyone says you'll slap yourself when you realize what it is.

Babakali
Not to be to confrontational but when you are done making believers cry you might want to take a moment and learn that the thingamajig is comonly called an oracle (amongst other more arcane names). It leaves a sour taste in my mouth that you build such belief and respect with your spectators around the items but don't seem to respect your items or the craft you are imitating enough to learn its terminology or history. If I am wrong I apologize and if you don't want to listen you don't have to, Im probably just an old vestijac running off at the trap.
Pain is the craft entering into the apprentice.

Magi Will Castor....
Yes my mystic, you did take me wrong, though its my fault... when I was writing, I couldn't remember the name of the plastic thing...Palete??? I meant no harm, I was just short on words... anyways, I always respect my spectators, and her tears were not of fear, nor dread..just astonishment... I know what I need to know of the board, and that is that it is what it is for those who believe...its the mind again and again... and as I said, I always explain the "two sides of the same coin," i.e., you cant have "magic," without "logic," so by no means was I trying to take advantage of (her) ignorance... also, I had no intention on using the tools with her board, she just happened to want to use one, after I gave a "cold reading" of sorts, and I just happened to have my tools on my person...no harm done. Ultimately, however, what a pity it is that one should think that "spirits" can be consulted on a board made by Parker bros...found at Toys R US.... respect and love my brother... |

Im a magus not a mystic...
I understand what your saying and perhaps shoudl be less spontaneous in my posts... again, "If I am wrong I apologize and if you don't want to listen you don't have to, Im probably just an old vestijac running off at the trap." thanks for the response though. As an aside I did intend to mention in my first post, the combination of effect is clever and probably was fairly devestating. One thing to think about if you continue to use it... Ive heard many a layman say the same thing about a ouija that you did. If you use one regularly I would highly suggest making one. Just a thought.

I purchased a board from Portals to the Beyond http://urbanartifacts.safeshopper.com/index.htm?872
They have some nice boards that are reasonably priced. If you want something a little more original then take a trip to Tabula Mortem http://www.tabulamortem.com The thingamagiggy is called a "planchette" and if you're really interested in learning about the board itself get yourself a copy of "tales from the talking board" by Jim Magus. He goes into a bit of detail about the origins of the board and discusses quite a few effects. I use my board with great discretion as I've found that people have even stronger concerns and beliefs about Ouija than they do about Tarot (despite the fact that the Tarot has a genuine occult history, rather than the board that seems to have been developed out of a commercial venture). Ok ok sorry, planchette....jeez, I was just offering an idea for the darn thing...I have no interest personally for the GAME, I was just at the right place at the right time with the right equipment...adding a bit o' bizarre to an otherwise boring toy.............
